Paul Simon solo is a bigger draw than Simon and garfunkle any day. We get the best of both worlds. What size band is he bringing? To me this is the perfect fit. He did a cracking song with Wycleff a few years back. He can jump around styles mix it up and do it all. This will be epic

And...
I dreamed he would be there and posted it here weeks ago, well not here, but somewhere on here. It was on September 25, I started a thread about it.

Pity I didn't dream bloody Bruce Springsteen was gonna' be there!

Nah, this is a great announcement, if only I can now dream that he plays Kodachrome in his set?!

Well done BF people. I am excited about that, but also about all the good people playing good music on every stage all through the festival.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion man...

Great clip saw Davey graham in the troubador club in earls court, in the early 90s, there was only about 15 people in there to watch him.
One of them was Rory gallagher, a night i'll never forget..

For Paul Simon songs to be performed (probably) - go to setlists.com

Re: Sour little comment. A lot of people said that ever since he lost the Beatles spot and Monkees gig to Davey Jones he changed. He was a shoe in for that role until producers of the show discovered Jones and the rest is history. He refused to tour England for a while in protest of Jones place in the all American classic musical show. I read when Wycleff worked with him he commented that him and Simon didn't get along. But I don't think that affected the quality if the song or musical output. Some people accuse Michael Franti of being a cranky bastard too.

It will be a great set. We all know the bluesfest crowd is the best and brings out the best in performers.

Given Brisbane won't be blessed with a Paul Simon show... will we get a full length show at Bluesfest?

Those 25-30 song setlists he's been playing would go down just fine...

I noticed looking at the set lists of his current tour that he did 4 songs with Jimmy Cliff at the Hyde Park show....what's the probability?

"...wild Jamaican's from Kingston drinking Irish Moss
Listening to Peter Winston Macintosh..."

I watched it too . Also same channel is still playing Robert Plant with Band of Joy & in a few days is featuring Grace Potter.
Over last few weeks it has shown Elvis Costello, Ray Lamontagne & Aaron Neville
I have a "home visit" Bluesfest & have recorded them on my foxtel IQ to enjoy whenever I want.
Just whetting my appetite for the real deal
