I thought that with the 5 stages it was sometimes hard to decide but 6.

Are we going to get longer sets maybe.

The mind is blown away

where did you read there will be six stages at the 2013 festival?

if this is true they either have a large number of artists or want to have long sets for the headline acts & need another stage to fit in the smaller acts.

it will be very interesting to see how this is set up on the site & hopefully it is beneficial to the festival.

We had six stages in 2009 and 2010.
The Indigenous stage operated for 7 hours per day.
The Cabaret tent was fantastic in 2009 as it widened the options.

six stages of exhaustion

Quote:
THURSDAY after that long drive Stage One: Sleepy
You failed to get a full 8 hours, but you are only a good nap or a diet coke away from being back on your game. *Yawn* “I guess I shouldn’t have stayed up late to watch those South Park re-runs”

FRIDAY Stage Two: Brain functions start slowing down
At this stage, you start noticing problems performing your job at your normal pace. Simple things get harder and creativity doesn’t come as easily. “Man, this spreadsheet seems a lot harder to read than it did yesterday, why does Math have to be this hard?”

SATURDAY and bloody idiot drumming at 2:00 AM Stage Three: Emotional & grumpy
In this stage, you start reacting to things more emotionally than normal. Little mistakes by your co-workers become personal insults and it becomes a struggle to remain professional. “Gah, why are these managers so hard to deal with? This place sucks, everything sucks, and I need a brownie.”

SUNDAY Stage Four: Loopy
This is the stage of exhaustion where you can become funny, if only in your own head, because you are out of it and you’re more likely to do something foolish. “You know what would be a great idea? Doing a blog post about exhaustion! It’ll be hilarious!”

MONDAY morning Stage Five: Robot
This is when all emotional and mental responsiveness shuts down, no affect is displayed, and your actions become mechanical. “Why does Shauna look so pissed off? She hasn’t smiled or giggled all day. It’s just creepy man…”

8:00 PM MONDAY night Stage Six: Passing out
At some point, your body just gives up and will be denied no longer. “You know, I should probably lie down…” (falls asleep standing with eyes open)

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Usually they have about 6-8 acts per day on each stage, when you look at the schedule it is not even half full.
There are still a lot more artists to be announced, of course we still don't have any Aussie announcement yet.
Keeps getting better.

Any chance that the 6th stage they are talking about is the buskers tent?

Be nice if they brought the indigenous stage back.

There have been some great stages over the years. Let's see what comes up.
