I'm wearing a Gram Parsons T-shirt as I type... I love the guy.

His two solo albums are both great, GP & Grievous Angel! Grievous Angel would be my first pick. Half of his band members on these recordings were part of Elvis' TCB band.

The Byrds - Sweatheart of the Rodeo is fantastic too. Essential even.

There's a great anthology "Sacred Hearts and Fallen Angels: The Gram Parsons Anthology" which has a bit of each band "The International Submarine Band", "Flying Burrito Brothers", "The Byrds" & his solo stuff.

That's a great place to start with Gram.

I agree Grevious Angel is a truly great album. Sad thing about Gram is that he didn't stick arounf long enough to expand on that catalogue. I reckon 'Sweetheart' sets the scene pretty well for what follows, so I reckon start there....
