Hi to everyone in Bluesfest land.
We are about to announce very soon - possibly the greatest announcement in the history of Bluesfest.
I am confident of a quick sellout of the 2013 festival once we do so.
Please be sure to avail yourself of our ticket offers - before we begin marketing to the general public through newspaper ads etc.
Right now we are presenting exclusive opportunities to our members - so what are you waiting for?
I sincerely believe you won't regret it.
Thank you for your support.
Peter Noble
Bluesfest

Anyone want to have a stab at what or who they think it is?
The last time they built up an announcement like this it turned out to be Jack Johnson. I was very disappointed to say the least.
I hope it's big!

It wasn't just Jack Johnson. It was every band he had signed to his record label and needed to push.

Only Tom Waits, Boss Springsteen or The STONES or C,S,N and Y could legitimately be compared with Dylan. If its Dave Mathews I'm in another tent.

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

It could still be someone like Jack Johnson, so better be wary.
I got suspended from bfbb after comments on that unwanted announcement

I'm hoping for Neil Young!!
Could be Clapton surely it cant be just Jack if they are claiming the best annoucement in bluesfest history!

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

B. Dylan

Well I'd have to say it's pretty obviously all of the following:

Neil
Tom
Bruce
Plant / Page / Zepathon
Derek & The Dominoes

Of course they will all be playing at the same time to avoid a crush.

Joni Mitchell

Bill Withers

or Tom Waits are the only artists that can live up to this hype for me.

Bruce and Neil will be here next year for their own tours anyway I'm sure.

How about CREAM.

Or to majke Greybeards day Boygeorge and Gary Glitter as backing singers to that Seoul Boy. Now that would be a music phenomenon.

Agree with Greybeard if it is the biggest announcement ever then it must be bigger than Dylan, Costello and Fogarty.
Very few artists would fill this slot................Springsteen, Clapton, Waits, Aretha, Simon and Garfunkel, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Petty, the Who, Prince.
I would love to think the Stones but that would be too much to expect.
It still has to fit the Bluesfest culture............James Taylor??
Still not completely satified we have got the answer to the last world tour by a great roots artist which was in the original hype...........is this Jimmy Cliff???? Is this Iggy???? Blind Boys??? - Who???? That raises the thorny old question what is roots music, which we have debated for years.

Love the Americana/Ausssiecana article by Brian in the latest Rhythms............he calls Americana roots?????
So maybe it is Chris Issak?

Iggy & the Stooges was the final world tour announcement.

As Ben Harper is already announced,it must be Jack Johnson or Michael Franti.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Jack Johnson and Michael Franti on Sunday to be sandwiched by the Boss on Saturday/Monday.

I don't think the bosses last tour was that successful from a promoters angle so I would think his price would have come down.
Also a nice little holiday for the kids

Whoever the big announcement is, I trust they better plan for it. The whole Dylan escapade backfired, with facilities stretched. Maybe the mega acts are best for stadiums !

I thought the Dylan year was the best yet. Heaps of screens, even though bob opted out of using them. And extra speakers at the back of mojo. Huge tents to, I thought last year blues fest shrunk a bit :(
