Saw that monkey thing, what a load of cobblers. Thank the good lord Australia would never consider entertaining such indulgent drivel... what rubbish, i got sick in my mouth after 30 seconds.

Sums up the english art/music scene to me...

BTW: Peter from the monkies is a dead ringer for a real artist Nick Cage!

4 yrs later - where you in jail or something?? Great post- name calling is back.. awesome.. - clearly an avid Kiss FM listener. Glastonbury is simply a commercial venture. Different demographic -vast majority of bluesfest attendees would rather see someone with some scope in regards to their song writing skills. Adele sings about her ex and how she's "stronger than ever" and how she's "over him" and how she'll "find someone new" riveting stuff!

What Helena actually means is that she is a big fan of Paolo Nutini.

Just reading my posts on this thread from 2012.

I was right. Psy and his silly Gangnam Style "song" were nothing but a one hit wonder.

It's true for us here in Australia, but he's huge in Pop Asia where the fan base is.
As happy background filler, I actually like Pop Asia, they stream it on TV screens at the Korean restaurant in Southport.
That was the first time I saw Psy and all the other strange boy and girl groups in full choreographed glory.

Yes he's mellowed out and has several winners with Lang Lang the great Chinese piano player.. He's well bigger than Adele in China. Big Bang are outselling 1 D as the premier boy band group on the planet and not just in Chineseland either.

I'd rather see Psy and Lang Lang than Adele at BF any day. He sings about politics human rights love and internationalism - Adele sings about her ex and "getting over a broken heart" over and over again.. its nauseating...

Talk about a closed mind, Gerty son of Maccain09. Love and heartbreak are part of the dna of modern music, which is why 100,000 Glasto visitors put their musical snobbery back in their backpack and embraced a modern and very appealing phenomenon whose name is Adele. Like her music? Not really. Buy her CD? Not a chance. But did I enjoy this little part of Glasto history? Absolutely. The crowd reaction was fantastic, particularly as all the tickets to this musical extravaganza were sold out before the first artist was even announced so it wasn't as if the place was awash with Adele devotees. Even the Tory rags got stuck into her afterwards for her swearing. As she said, bet prog rock giants Muse didn't get a swearing warning from the BBC!
Given the choice between a Chinese classical pianist and the pottymouth chanteuse from London I think I know which one I and a few others would pick for spending some time with at Bluesfest, not that it's ever going to happen mind you.

closed mind? Chinese classical Pianist with a Korean Rapper/Tenor? (closed mind?).

I would say that Adele just another Alison Moyet with more record company support.

Imagine the fun! everyone at Byron dancing to the Gangaman Style anthem. . beats yoga with Mick Franti any day.

You can see how it would work....

First everyone gets the work out of their lives dancing and then we sit to listen to Lang Lang. I cant recall any chinese artists at BF. I have always been a fan of the Asian scene.

Cornelius is probably the most underrated musician on earth.

Bob Geldoff who played a great set many moons ago (who is part chinese) is the closest we have come to an Asian artist apart from the Japanese drummers a while back too.

Well maybe I am but I can't contemplate a Bluesfest with any Seoul singers as part ,
it would probably be enough to sell my ticket.

Well the fact is that we are short on rappers at Bluesfest 2017.
In addition,Bluesfest could look at expanding more into the Asian market.
This guy has 1,014,132,019 hits.
So let's get him to headline Bluesfest 2017.

Narcissim is not prohibited on this forum.
As for Psy being a one hit wonder, nothing could be further from the truth.
He has in fact released his 7th album, and is hugely popular.
Evidenced by the fact that this track has had 38,393,471 hits in 12 months.

I would suggest respectfully Ranger that the majority of these hits come from Asia. This really is facile puerile mysogynistic pap at its worst.

Spanner don't you think that Bluesfest needs to tap into the increasing numbers of Asian residents in Au in order to increase its patronage.
I once met a Japanese guy at Bluesfest who admired my Doors shirt.
There are also quite a number of comments from Brazil.
So lets think outside the square here.
