hello, newbie to forum and bluesfest

couple of questions about parking

1. until recently it said on web that you could prepay parking, but then it wasn't an option when you buy tickets. anyone know what the story is with that? I sent email asking question. got no response but then the info part was removed from website. very odd.

2. anyone know if parking is a drama? also, can you go back to your car?

I have never seen anything about prepaid parking.
However I live a little way north of Byron and drive to the festival each day.
Last year the parking cost $10 and was a relatively painless affair, well organised and reasonably quick.
The car park is located off a road on the Pacific Highway side of the festival away from the main entrance where all the buses and most people enter.
There is a separate entry gate to the festival which only serves the car park.
It is about a 3 or 4 minute walk from the car park to this gate.
It is located at the rear of the festival grounds near the Mojo tent.
Once you get to the gate, your ticket is traded for a wristband that you wear for the duration of the festival.
This allows you to come and go as you please, whether back to your car or anywhere else.
Have Fun!

Hi Fuschia Chick1, I remember seeing that about the prepaid parking and you're right, it's not anywhere to be found now! If you're staying in Byron then it's just as easy to catch the bus.

I just found this on the Tickets page, so there is pre-paid parking.

Quote:
Parking

Our new kid on the block! If you are coming for a day or for the entire time you will be able to pre-purchase your parking to avoid any delays when you get to the Festival. This offer is for daily visitors, there is no parking fee for campers.

Parking

$10 per day

This is the same price you pay anyway and I don't see how it would avoid delays.
Everyone has to drive in through the same gate.
Whether you part with $10 in cash or a ticket, it's all the same.
