Hi,

I want to share with you a clip of my son playing blues at school assembly (year 6, primary).

He uses a BOSS RC-3 looping pedal for drum track, and to lay down bass and rhythm tracks... then solos over it all.

He's just learning to improvise to please be generous with any comments, I think something from bluesfest 2011 stuck with him though :-)

Love Struck Baby

Thanks
Paul

if hes bluesfesting this easter, try to see kenny wayne shephard-who played with stevie ray when he was about your sons age and joanne shaw taylor.see if he likes their playing and style.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Thanks for the tip - will certainly check them out. We are big fans of Ray Beadle, a bf regular, if you haven't seen him check him out. I'm also looking forward to seasick steve :-)

He looks like Angus Young lolololololololololo

If he has the presence of mind to play like that at his age and adlib arrangements like "All of me"
then he is already quite gifted. Quickly get him on the keys, it's much easier to write songs on piano,
and he will be pouring out originals in no time,,,

Write a wise saying and your name will live on forever,,, Anonymous

That clip was great. Isn't he good for grade 6 and he looks so confident. You must be really proud of him. However he ends up, I wish him all the best.

He will be a star no doubt, he may not reach the heights of steven seagal a bluesmaster who is also a master of martial arts acting and has mystical healing and physic powers.

I think he will be a star of lets say Clapton type heights which should be all he needs to get his music out there.

its great for young blokes to be able to express themselves. Keep up th eyou tube posts.

It’s a shame most of seagals you tube stuff is of such poor quality as any aspiring guitarist would learn from the mojo priest.

Keep the you tubers coming this is the site to keep real grassroots blues fans us up to speed.

Awesome!!!!

Was just listening to interview with Lloyd Spiegel (you can check him out here ) yesterday on Community Radio down here in Melbourne saying it's been 21 years this week since he had his first paid gig playing the Blues at Corner Hotel as an 11 year old! Great to see the Blues will live on for yet another generation :)
