How much will drinks prices be in 2012 ? I am going to brace myself to imbibe Tooheys for five days which I suspect will be the case. No wonder some smuggle !

If they have decent cider I'll be tempted to buy drinks. FYI 5 Seeds and Strongbow don't count as good cider. I'm talking Rekorderlig or Koppaberg.

if theres any cider it will be canned.

about cider...tried one from nz called mout? blackberry flavored...8%...quite cheap...dan murphys.
half the price of the others and twice as strong.

Therefore the answer is not to drink alcohol.
If you reduce the demand, the price will come down.
As for apple cider,I was one of the few who was captivated by its charms 40 years ago when the available varieties downunder were few.
Now it has become a trendy beverage with the result that many varieties are available.

I have a collection of tickets from 2006 until now- very bayou like, because it is like owning confederacy dollars. Not worth a tinker's cuss.
But I hope that prices are moderate because over a 10 hour day over 5 days one can go from riches to rags if one likes a drink to be the sorbet between great acts.

I think the brand you're refering to is Montiefs. They make good cider and good beer as well.
Personally I've never seen cider in cans so I'm not too hopeful of there being any available to purchase.

On the rare time I buy alcohol, a four pack of Monteiths apple cider is my purchase.
But it is only 4.5 % abv.
So not the one Waffles is referring to.

The grog at Bluesfest is priced well over the odds, considering the buying power that such a bulk purchase would enable.

And the sponsorship that make only certain brands available.

But this will not change in the future, regardless of which overseas conglomerate owns our former Aussie Beer Brands.

I am not a spirit drinker, so do not have to deal with those amazing prices.

Coopers mild and pale ale are available in cans. Until recently you couldn't get cans outside South Australia as it was marketed as premium beer, but now Coopers are supplying cans to events in other states (motor racing I believe). Maybe Bluesfest could trial some? Unlike the other 360 days of the year, I don't drink at bluesfest because I try to soak up as much music as I can and in any case Tooheys new is the Macdonalds of beer. If they had good beer though, I'd have a couple.

hi,

just enquiring what is the deal with drinks do you pay cash or do you buy bulk tickets first timer wanting to know the low-down on this. I know
you have to purchase alcohol on premises but how does this work and what is the average price etc. What happens if you have vip ticket is it
different then

you buy your tickets.
Around $7 for beer & $10 for mixed.
Not sure about wine or vip drink prices but vip gives you a seperate bar area.
Check the map for an idea of where bars & ticket are http://www.bluesfest.com.au/pages/?ParentPageID=1&PageID=123

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
