I just found out - this is so sad... New Orleans just won't be the same without him!

A bit of footage from the second line for Coco:

Not quite like being there, but the next best thing, Pete!

and another link - this is a better movie, I think:

Wow...thx for these Sharleen!! What a wonderful send off...what a beautiful crowd of freaks and misfits, all for Coco. Just a few familiar faces :)) As the guy says at about the 9 min mark of the second video as the second line crosses Esplanade from Marigny into the Quarter...."only in New Orleans"....you either get it or you don't.

They do things a little different when it comes to burials in New Orleans.

Not sure what happens if family don't have the cash to rent the vaults/tombs.

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
Vodka, plastic pop-off, twist one off
Yesterday I smoked, today I don't
Yeah, yeah, yeah

From Jerry Moran, New Orleans Photographer:

Quote:
In early December 2011 we sent off Coco Robicheaux the only way we know how,
with a Jazz Funeral Second Line starting on Frenchmen Street and winding thru the French Quarter,
ultimately ending at the House of Blues where countless, and I mean countless, musicians, friends and family celebrated the life and music of Coco late into the evening.....I am sure Coco was smiling, lookin down from the spirit world where we all know he resides now....
Thanks for organizing this beautiful event Shaggy.......video link is http://youtu.be/eA4r2rXbA7w, and stills can be seen on my photography website at http://nativeorleanian.com/coco-robicheaux-jazz-funeral-and-celebration-at-the-house-of-blues/

Nice to see such a fine turn out for Coco...
