Is it true the rumors that Byron Blues fest are holding out on announcing the much awaited line up for Aprils blues fest due to a breakdown in negotiations in locking in a performance with Easy Beats and Flash in The Pan legends Harry Vanda and George Young with the one and the only vocalist of The Easy Beats Little Stevie Wright's for a much anticipated and rumored closing festival performance of his huge seventies pop trilogy "Evie Parts one ,two and three"

I heard a rumour Stevie Wright would be sitting in with Jamaican Studio One Legend Stranger Cole. Unfortunately, their sold out gig at the basement in Sydney is not available on youtube.

That's just not true Scot and you know it.You should stop spreading scurrilous rumors.
Here some more Stranger Cole with King Tide I have found on the web

I think that will be the closest anyone at Bluesfest will get to a true Rock Steady legend this year.

Hey, I didn't say it was true, I just said I heard the rumour. And I did. Because I made it up.

Pull on your retro threads and dancing shoes and head to Elizabeth Street to catch Jamaica’s mento masters The Jolly Boys. These dance hall legends get things swinging before The Sirens Big Band open an explosive outdoor Trocadero Dance Palace. The 40s and 50s jive and hop into life as Sydney’s swingsters and rockabillies fill the streets in all their fabulous finery.

Sydney Festival Its FREE

Quote:
Mento is a style of Jamaican folk music that predates and has greatly influenced ska and reggae music. It has its roots in calypso and other Jamaican folk music. Mento typically features acoustic instruments, such as acoustic guitar, banjo, hand drums, and the rhumba box — a large mbira in the shape of a box that can be sat on while played. The rhumba box carries the bass part of the music.

Excuse me ... I love Evie Parts 1, 11 and 111 and I'm in my 40s so Stevie must be aged around 60. ;p

Anyway, last I heard Stevie Wright is very unwell and his performing days were over. :(
