They hardly need my help, but what the heck.

It looks like they'll be playing concrete bunkers, big tops, vineyards. Something for everyone.

Charley Drayton (Keith, Divynls) will be filling the drum stool.

My (non) Chisel Story...and lets hear yours?

So as an underage drinker at the famous Bryants Hotel at Manlyvale in Sydney's northern beaches about 1980, I noticed a queue snaking through the carpark one Friday night. I saw the entry sign "Cold Chisel - $10" and returned to the front bar for the evening, saying "never heard of them and can't see them being worth $10"....

Sigh. Spent the evening listening to lame covers, while Chisel rocked the room behind me.

Must catch them this time round but not sure about Jimmy's voice these days?

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

the first time i saw chisel was as the support act for foreigner-in those days i saw any overseas act- and all i could remember was how tame foreigner were. i think barnesy poured a bottle of champagne (or maybe it was cheap wine) over himself and ian moss.

the most memorable was at bangalow bowlo (i think someone else mentioned this gig)
doors shut-full house at 6 pm-people climbed through windows etc. by the time they came on everyone was shitfaced- bong sessions in the toilets, couples going for it under the pool tables, people buying 750ml. bottles of
rum over the counter because it was the quickest way to get served.
i still remember it because i was in a full leg cast after a bike accident.could hardly walk without pain.friends basically carried me there.i ended up dancing on a table -on crutches.i guess the pain killers worked.
that was chisel in the 80s !!!

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Ahh memories . . .or lack of.
Sounds like a typical night out back in the 80's ;)

My only memory of Cold Chisel (never a big fan) is they were regular fixtures
at Frenches and The Bondi Life Saver. Frenches was free, can't remember cover at Lifesaver.
Then you would see Barnes down at the Manzil Room off his face picking up
who ever was available.
Boy was I jealous.

On account of my seeming eternal youth, my first and only show was 1998, at the supposedly secret show in Newcastle. How do people find out about these, not much of a secret by definition.

I went mainly to see that rhythm section in action, but was late so crappy sight lines around the bar gave me a Mr Barnes view only.

I'm hoping to make it to somewhere in the deep north for a couple of shows for a balmy experience.

Would love to see the Tatts at Byron before anymore of the originals rock up to the big gig in the sky.

Shows cancelled after Jimmy Barnes health scare

Australian Rocker Jimmy Barnes has had another health scare.

The 55-year-old became ill on Tuesday and has been ordered to take it easy.

Some of his solo shows ahead of the upcoming Cold Chisel reunion tour have been cancelled.
..............Barnes is expected to make a full recovery in plenty of time to begin rehearsals with Cold Chisel for their October tour.

Never was much of a fan of Cold Chisel but I love Jimmy's duets with our boy country Troy. His edginess is the perfect foil for Troy's voice.

Not overly excited about them coming back and I won't be going to any shows but ..

I remember going to a gig in Frankston, Victoria when I was a sweet young thing in the 1980s. Jimmy Barnes climbed onto the balcony, danced on our table, jumped down into the crowd, somehow got back on stage, then mooned us.
