I know this was tried a few years back with Ben Harper, but imagine one of the great musician/producers curating a stage for the day - T Bone Burnett, Joe Henry or Allen Toussaint??

It better not be next year if it is ANY of those 3 Pete. Chills down the spine just with the possibilities.

Another great suggestion
Any of the three would be marvellous
Perhaps we could expand the idea a little and bestow the title of" MAYOR of Bluesfest " whereby on the other four days he would just poke around the tents as is his want
I'm I too complacent in thinking this might evolve into a MUST HAVE honour?
Others may be
Bruce Iglauer
Tim Duffy
Kris Kristofferson
Willie Nelson

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

I think Elvis Costello was suitably impressed enough by the festival that he did mention at one stage that he was going back to tell T-Bone Burnett to bring out his Speaking Clock Revue show next year.

I caught the Revue last year in the US... in the space of about three hours I saw Elvis Costello, Leon Russell & Elton John, Neko Case, Ralph Stanley and Jeff Bridges backed by Burnett's frequent studio collaborators (featuring guys like Marc Ribot and Jay Bellerose).

It'd be great to see this concept expanded into a full day at Bluesfest...

One thing I've come to realise is that a lot of musicians I respect have taste in music that I simply don't agree with. Outside of someone like Burnett there's not too many people I'd want curating a festival I'm at.
