Im sitting at home in Burringbar( 15 minutes away by car ) and its been absolutely pissing down all day . Is the site still sort of dry and is it still reasonably easy to get in and out ? Thanks Everyone.

Sitting in the food tent right now. Lovely blue sky after a miserable night/day. Where gravel is down there's just patches of puddles, but the rest (i.e. most of the site) is ankle deep mud/water.

Fine barefoot or in gumboots but anything in-between might be a struggle.

I thought it would only take half a days rain to get ankle deep mud at this site.

This new site has been blessed with it's two Fests being relatively rain free. If it is every subjected to a full rain Fest it would be madness out there. Those camp sites also look like rice paddy fields ready to fill up.

Last year and the year before that, there was chip bark put down to cover all the mud and water from the rain over night, before you arrived in the mornings....
This year the festival would of made more money with the extra night and extra stalls and no bark, we slipped slid and fell over in slime outside all the toilets, I have a dislocated knee in a brace, so, not too happy with the 2011 concert.
I cannot understand what happened this year we have enjoyed ourselves for five years in a row, but will not be going next year, maybe my knee will be healed by then, I should sue the pants off the festival for my doctors bills...

I wish I'd checked this forum before I set out on Tuesday morning (my only day there too). :o

I initially had a pair of sneakers and socks on but brought along some old thongs which I put on when I saw the mud. After a while it was hopeless trying to walk in them so I went barefoot for the rest of the day. Nearly fell flat on my bum several times when the mud got really slippery.

Wood chips on all wet surfaces next year please Mr Noble! :)
