Certainly did try Waffles. Had a SAS type jumped-up security guy downright refuse me. As I was trying to get what I needed out of the bag another guy at the entry said quietly "Just take it and go in" which I did. The Security guy then chased me, sent me out and went on to abuse the nice gate man who said to walk thru!

Coolyback - Was he a tallish guy short hair (maybe shaved) lol.. prob the same guy that refused me.

I personally think the Camera policy is archaic. Most compact camera's are well over 10 mega pixels, most phones have over 5 mega pixels! And just because it has a detachable lens doesn't mean it is a good camera.

Agreed - I have a 12MP fixed lens Canon and just walked in the first 5 days no questions. Day 6 I was stopped and had to take the camera out and he checked it and said it was outside the regulations, but since I was there on my own and there was no one else around he just let me through.

Policy does seem a little archaic as you say.
