Jason Mraz would be leaving Dublin on April 10 at the earliest to make it here... I think when he graces the stage he'll be feeling about as rotten as many of the drinkers in the crowd.

I just read this in the Gold Coast Bulletin as well. Strange why it hasn't been announced on the official site yet! I would love to know which bands are playing on which days!

Monday at best, and even that is with a late sunday or monday morning arrival. crazy if you ask me.

No real surprises here either which is a shame. Expected at least one or two big name surprises.

If its true, I'll definitely be lining up to see James Hunter

One of the best blue eyed soul singers I've heard, he's released a couple of top notch albums in the last decade

If I remember correctly, I think he played guitar for Van Morrison way back when

Had a look back at some old threads and this is what we had early december:

Drive By Truckers
Booker T
Ayo
Paul Kelly
Blues Traveler
C.W. Stoneking & The Primitive Horn Orchestra
Rodney Crowell

Not bad - but how did we miss xavier? That should have been a slam dunk.

Wouldn't have thought he needed mentioning... even when he's not on the lineup he shows up (2005). I assume he's thrown in for free when you hire enough portaloos or something...

Amen on that one, Bindog! I've been hanging out to see James Hunter for a few years now. Don't know if he played guitar for Van, you'd know better than me on that one. But I do know that Van has been singing his praises for awhile now and even did some duets with James on a couple of tracks on one of his earlier discs, "Believe What I Say", where James is channeling some soulful Ray Charles vibes. Thanks for booking him, Peter!

I'm also excited about Booker T, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Rodney Crowell, Sonny Landreth, Lucinda, Mic Conway, and the Bamboos. I'm looking forward to checking out these new acts, too: Hot Club of Cowtown, Watermelon Slim, Alabama 3, NuYorican Nights, Zappa playing Zappa, Alpha Blondy & the Easy Star All Stars. Plus you've included a lot of my old favorites as well: Solomon Burke, Eric Bibb, Tony Joe, the Blind Boys, Ruthie Foster, Paul Kelly, Nicky Bomba, Dallas Frasca, Pete Cornelius & Eugene Hideaway Bridges! All in all, there's a lot to choose from there, and just think, there's even more to come!

Look how far ahead we are in 2013 for the imminent second announcement compared to five years ago.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

CW Stoneking is the only thing I want to see on that list, hopefully more stuff I like will be on the 3rd announcement then.

Ha, it took me about five minutes to notice this is a flashback, I am embarrassed to admit.
