I called in at the Bluesfest office in Byron yesterday.
I asked about the next announcement and was informed that contracts are being finalised now and the next announcement will be made in the first week of February.
I was also told that there are a further 60 bands on the list.

60 Bands!! Here it goes..

1. Widespread Panic
2. Tom Waits
3. Taj Mahal
4. Phish
5. Derek Trucks
6. Holmes Brothers
7. Erykah Badu
8. North Mississippi All Stars
9. Polyphonic Spree
10. Dirty Dozen Brass Band

That's about as high as I can count. Anyone care to finish the list?

Trumpet bells ringing
Bass drum is swinging
As the trombone groans
And the big horn moans

With a list like that, I don't really have to :-)

Since I've been quiet on the wishlist front this year, a few personal faves that I have consistently hoped for and will repeat again:

Alison Krauss and Union Station
Gov't Mule
Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings
The Gin Club also deserve a spot in my opinion, though obviously aren't the giants that the acts above are
Banawarun
The Dirty Three

That'll do for now

No Trucks, his website has him playing in USA over Easter but Slowhand has nothing showing in April, maybe a holiday before comes to Byron?

I'd like to see some Reggae.
I did not see or hear any at all last year.
Miss the likes of the Marleys and the Wailers.

Everybody else got the e-mail - Friday the 30th for 20 more artists. Pete also confirmed that many of the artists have already leaked on the boards, so I imagine only 10 or so artists will be surprises.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'd also assume that the biggest acts of the next announcements will be unreported elsewhere, owing to the tighter operations such bands run with their management/PR folks.
