What are you allowed to bring into the festival? ie - water bottles (sealed or empty), chairs, blankets, camel paks, umbrellas, flags?

I'm sure alcohol, firearms and narcotics are strictly forbidden, but is there anything else that prohibited? Is there searching at the gate and how thorough is it?

This year do not hide bottles of spirits inside your fold out chair.

Security is now on to that.

Flags are permitted only if you are a Rastaman and there is a Marley on stage.

And it must be the politically correct flag.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Read up carefully on the camera policy - security are under directions, but stories from posters in the past indicate that security staff often seem to exaggerate what consititutes "professional" equipment. I only ever took a point and shoot myself (and that was only last year). Still, that was enough to get some cool shots for the odd sets I spent right up front.

If you take a chair in, make sure it is glow-in-the-dark, padded and takes up no more than 15 square centimetres of ground space, lest you be tarred with the vitriolic brush of a forum poster in the great annual chairs debate. I believe it would have to be considered more contentious an issue than anything in the political landscape at present. Bigger than asylum seekers, bigger than climate change, bigger than wikileaks - should chairs be banned?????
