Although mentioned by only one poster, I think we all felt there was something missing on the new board. Accordingly I feel it my duty to resurrect some lively debate. Here goes.

So, how about those chairs then? I like them a lot and think they're really tops............

I agree (sorry no debate as yet) last bf i parked my mobility scooter behind the "chair people" & that made a great "buffer zone" between myself & the standers giveing me a much better view.

Don't forget to bring ya chairs to bf.

chairs during daylight and feet at night is my feeling.

Trumpet bells ringing
Bass drum is swinging
As the trombone groans
And the big horn moans

Last year was our first year without chairs for a while and it certainly made life easier for moving around and dancin'

With the great setup at the food halls it was always easy to get a seat if you needed a blow for a while, not to mention the great food to try whilst chairing out.

How does one stand on someone's spine, whilst they are seated ? Its not like their on their stomach!
Now if you would care to sound less like an Israeli General we could have some meaningful dialogue.

One of my chairs

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Suggestions for the pro- chair people to try a BF without them:
- perform a few downward facing dogs each day onsite to stretch the hammies
- 10 minutes of stretches each morning before heading to the BF (recommend Pilates style moves)
- no unnecessary standing (ie sit on the ground when nothing much is happening)
and YOU TOO can enjoy luggage free BF experience!

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

Not to be negative, lets dissect this suggestion

Quote:

Yea right.
Quote:
- 10 minutes of stretches each morning before heading to the BF (recommend Pilates style moves)

Alternately get your beer from the top shelf.
Quote:
- no unnecessary standing (ie sit on the ground when nothing much is happening)

My alternative suggestion

Yea right.

Why not? would you be embarrassed?

Not a bad suggestion - good thorassic stretch - just make sure to alternate between right and left

My alternative suggestion

Yes Skot there was a lady at the gig tonight in a wheelchair.

I guess you would like to push those sort of people off the balcony.

Age is a great leveller as you will find out in time.

And it comes around pretty quickly.

We dont need whingers on this forum.

Peter Noble wants positive feedback.

Are you capable of ANYTHING AT ALL THAT IS MEANINGFULL ?

And if you want an audience to laugh at you when you trip over all those chairs,I'll be happy to take part.

My companion will be bringing a chair.

He's just had a hip done.

A result of 30 plus years standing around all day in gumboots on a concrete floor.

Not good for the body.

As for chair-throwing,well I imagine the police would be very happy to put you in their paddy wagon.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.
