The Palmwoods hotel is set for a cracker holiday season and the blues lineup, as always, is leading from the front

Palmwoods Got The Blues in December is set to feature to feature some of the finest young talent to emerge in Australia in recent years

Kicking things off will be the hot young sunshine coast blues funk outfit No Problem. While the boys are still at school, they’ve been showing a surprising maturity in their songwriting and performance and will set things up perfectly for the acts to follow

The Gold Coast ‘s Blind Lemon are up there with the hardest working live acts in SE Qld. Since winning the Blues Association of Se Qld’s Band of the Year contest in January, the band have been averaging 3 gigs a week . Their hard driving, flat out approach, finely crafted songs and high quality musicianship make them a perfect antidote for those long hot, muggy qld summer nights

Making the trip to the Palmwoods for the first time will be Marshall & The Fro. In just 3 short years, these guys have come from being unknowns to sharing the biggest festival stages with the cream of Australia’s roots music talent. Since emerging in 2005, they’ve toured the country, released an award winning debut album and practically demolished the Juke Joint at the East Coast Blues & Roots festival.

Returning in January and kicking the New Year of with a bang will be Barrelhouse, making the drive up from the NSW mid north coast and playing Palmwoods on Sat January 3. These guys won all sorts of fans when they first played Palmoods back in Sept and will be stretching out live from 8.30

The first Palmwoods Got The Blues multi band night will be held on the 3rd sat of the month, Sat the 17th of January and the gig will include the return of Andy “Sugarcane Collins”, local favourites The Blue Monks and the Doc Span Blues band, launching the new cd “Live From Australia”
