Hey Pete, I see the line-up has been announced for next year's Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleans:

There's some exciting prospects there - I am especially looking forward to seeing Otis Clay, Dan Penn, Howard Tate, the Hi Rhythm Section and Long John Hunter. I wonder if The Remains are our own Aussie band?

I noticed that one of last year's Ponderosa Stomp performers, Barrence Whitfield, is actually playing at the Big Day Out this year. I've got an old CD he recorded with Tom Russell entitled "Hillbilly Voodoo" - it's great! I would really like to see him so I hope he plays some side shows while he's over here.

You're right on the ball Sharleen. Looks like another eclectic lineup of half forgotten originators and mythical legends! I don't think the Remains are our beloved band...but i must do some research to find out more. And, the news is that jazzfest's bill will be announced next Tuesday (NOLA time)!! Can't wait!
