There are normally around 80 artists announced yearly.. this year is past 70..
Nothing is off.except the attitude of a small number of the posters..
And as a moderator, I’m over it.. no one else at Bluesrest will l agree to moderate ..for obvious reasons.
It’s a day night job ... with nothing received but abuse...
Goodnight

Mate it’s simple, the 2nd last BF poster said more artists to be announced at the end - then we reannounced the Boomerang line up with no mention of the additional artists to be announced. All most people want to know if there are additional artists - If not people will plan around the current - simple stuff. No one is trying to overthrow the government.

65 artists announced according to the artist listing on the website. That means up to 15 more if 80 is the standard.

The black man had the blues

But Tchaikovsky had the news...."

There used to be about 105.

I agree with the Moderator.
The idea that something is off is offensive

I don't recall anyone saying off=bad

Off just = different. Strange. Unusual. Etc.

Noone is abusing anyone.

I'm not unhappy. I already have my 3 day camping ticket and plan on having a great time. But as someone who has attended the last 8 festivals, you can't blame me for pointing out the obvious..

The implication that off =bad is obvious.

How many artists from the original festival? Interesting that Phil Manning and Canned Heat celebrated their 50th last year. When were the Paladins and Charlie Musselwhite here last? What about the Witchdoctors? Some are still playing in bands in Newcastle......

Except for bucetti the above posters have just proved they are halfwits.

If you've got a problem or want questions answered show some guts and ring the bluesfest office otherwise shut the f..k up.

This is a music forum.

I didn't start this thread for bickering y'all.

I don't particularly care whether you're excited or not.
I'm stoked as hell

Jack White, Jack Johnson are worth it for me personally.
Everything else is a bonus.

Get at me if you feel the need.
If not, post something positive..... You're all supposed to be adults remember?

I think most of us know what the "off" comment is in relation to but every time it is mentioned the posts get deleted.

As for this year's lineup there have been better ones in previous years ... that's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

Has anyone actually tried ringing the Bluesfest Office to discuss their concerns re the subject we are not allowed to talk about on here? They rang me once years ago to inform me that my profile on this forum needed to be re-added due to a mix-up of some sort. They were very pleasant.

I've not phoned the office but have sent several emails. I've had one reply. The remainder were ignored.
The one reply I got appeared to be a generic reply that didn't address any of the specific points I raised (I won't mention them here otherwise will risk this disappearing too.) but quoted "under our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute artists and/or vary advertised programs, prices, seating arrangements and audience capacity".

careful, you're walking on thin ice, haha ... but I agree with you.

shame people can't have an opinion on this forum anymore unless it's part of the establishment.

...

Also I'm not sure if that ENYA comment from another poster is legit but I would buy a ticket straight away if they booked her.
Probably trolling though as she very rarely performs live.

In order to avoid future issues - can you please define abuse?

I feel like the poster above calling everyone halfwits absolutely falls under the banner of 'abuse'.

I feel like other posters who are genuinely discussing the state of the festival do not fall under that banner.

Can you please clarify if you see things differently.

Questioning bluesfest policy and trying to debate this gets posts deleted and posters banned for being abusive but this^ is permitted?
