After getting a reply from the Bluesfest Facebook team I have been made aware there is at least 1 more announcement before they kick off in April!

Any ideas as to who might be important enough for the last annoucement...

If I'm honest my guess is Post Malone.

It explains too many things....

Let me know what you think.

Catching up with Steve next week in Chi town . He tells me he’s all in. Just off the phone to him - you heard it hear first.

King tide long long long overdue. Not exactly a bank breaker too. Zero Reggae this year. Damien Marley would be a welcome return.

I still hold out hope that Lukas has a certain singer/guitarist join his band for at least one show across the five days.

....and I still reckon there is one announcement with multiple artists. $5.00 at shortish odds.

Ry Cooders recent offering is senasational it would be a nice trip for him and his kid who basically makes up the rest of his band.

I don't think most are jb haters....they just don't particularly like his type of music. all music appeals to some people,as they say different strokes for different folks.

Back in the 60`s,Muddy Waters,or it could have been one of the Stones said ''There`s no money in blues'',and that`s why this festival has been slowing drifting away from that genre for the past 20 years, not saying it`s not a great festival[I must like it I`ve been to the last 23]but the facts are there is not a lot of money in blues.

Always wanted to see Ry Cooder. He’s a perfect fit for Bluesfest.

Shame about Ry
Excellent homegrown blues guitarist Lloyd Spiegel has only played once I believe despite clearly indicating he's keen.
Walter Trout last year was spectacular and was also keen to return.
I'd not be surprised to see Courtney Barnett announced - especially with Kurt Vile on the bill
Billy Gibbons or ZZ Top?
Despite Little Steven ( a fantastic announcement btw) being given a single announcement - probably more to do with the leak rather then intended - he's not at the top of the listing on both days he's playing which leaves it open for a headliner to be forthcoming

All good suggestions. Walter Trout blew me away last year....absolutely fabulous. I'd love to see Joanne Shaw Taylor here on the back of her upcoming album.....she has a big hole in her touring schedule at this stage. Also holding out that they might also announce Neil Young.

Currently there are 65 artists named by my reckoning. I still expect 10-15 more, as most years the number is closer to 80. ....and if there are 10-15, I still believe there is room for one, possibly two, more headliner level artists to be announced.

wondering if today's email is an indication that they've not been able to get some acts they were after?
