One of the giants of African music, Zimbabwe's Oliver Mtukudzi has died at the age of 66 due to complications from diabetes. I had the privilege of seeing him perform at the now defunct Prince Hotel in St.Kilda years ago in a joyous audience full of Melbourne's Zimbabwean community...they knew all the words to his songs and it was amazing to see and hear them singing along. It was a wonderful show from a man who brought a lot of happiness to the people of a country blighted by the authoritarian rule of Robert Mugabe. RIP.

Sad news, I got into his music a couple years back on an African trip. Beautiful music, great artist.
