SBS have been playing the documentary about his life and times.
Have to admit he really was pretty good at playing the guitar.
Phenomenal in fact.

JIMI LIVES.Anxious

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

That was a good show. Excellent interviews and old footage.

Was well worth the watch. Not sure if it is on SBS On Demand, but it would be worth while watching it (again) if it is.

There seems to be a real run on music shows over the last week or so. Watched the one on Jimi which was excellent. The next night it was a doco focused show on Freddy Mercury , followed the next night by special on Queen, the beatles "8 days a week" and then late last night CBGB - about a particular music venue in New York. I haven't watched this yet but it sounds good.

Seems I did a review on a movie about that club

Just watched C.B.G.B. it's about the birth of American Punk , panned by the critics but I think it is a classic.
Club was to be Country- Blue Grass-Blues but got waylaid
Great history
Alan Rickman's best
What is wrong with the critics

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

I finally got the chance to watch that movie. Really enjoyed it. What an amazing character he must have been.
