Seconded. He's got some great post-stone roses songs too.
In the same vein, primal scream have just released their Memphis recordings of their 94 album give out but don't give up. Would fit quite nicely into bluesfest.

Ian Brown would be great.
Seen the Stone Roses twice in the last few years, great live band.

I'd like to see some more UK indie rock bands, I'd add these.

Primal Scream
Suede
Editors
White Lies
The Good, The Bad & The Queen (Damon Albarn)
Piroshka (supergroup featuring members of Lush, Moose and Elastica)

Oh and The Specials are releasing a new studio album early next year! They would be great for the ska act.

The Levellers are a great live band and perfect for Bluesfest. Currently undertaking a 30yr anniversary tour in Europe.
In a completely different vein Lynyrd Skynyrd are doing a farewell tour. They've only been to Australia once before. Would be great to see them at BF but I don't think they'd be deemed to fit politically.
