The Sydney Festival has been slipping down the last couple of years
Seems not one free show in the Domain
Down from the Opera, the Symphony and one year New Orleans finest and another year Daptone artists
No artist like Lou Reed or Rosanne Cash, nothing to get me on a ferry
Guess all the money has gone into sport stadiums, even there Brookie misses out again

PLEASE let me know if I missed something

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Nenah Cherry .. buffalo stance man - the type of song the opera house was built for.

SYDNEY FEST GETS WORSE EVERY Year. FACT. It’s no wonder the people of Sydney have turned away from live music.

Pathetic lineup utterly pathetic.

Yes
Inclined to agree.
Completely underwhelming.

When they go low-we go high.

Brisbane gets a lot of the side shows now so no need for me to travel to Sydney.

I can't see any massive music names but Vivid Sydney seems to get the better music acts now, Sydney Festival is more about Theatre and Cabaret.

Personally I am looking forward to seeing Neneh Cherry (Sweden), Nakhane (South Africa) and Julia Holter (USA) in Brisbane.
All fine artists who have released great new albums this year.

I'd also be checking out Orquesta Akokan for some fine Cuban big band dance music. It's an exclusive show, so only in Sydney. Also Les Filles de Illighadad for some female led Tuareg blues from Niger looks good. But yeah, slim pickings.

Hangin' out on Frenchmen

Interesting there is an Opera In The Park ( The Domain) in January 2019
It's just not under the Sydney Festival Banner
