Only one artist also on the 24th Anniversary lineup 1st announcement.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

I'll be checking him out for sure. Still remember the first time I heard 'Trouble'. Time to dust off those albums again

JJ hasn't played for 5 years. That's a good solid announcement. Glad to see Elephant Sessions returning after making such an impression this year. Likewise the Honeydrops.

Pity CM won't be with BH
Kasey is always good value and perfectly fits BF imo and St Paul are like BF's adopted sons.

We weren't really expecting a massive headliner a la Neil to be announced at this stage surely but this is a very solid, well rounded announcement.

Still think it is a great start with 6 from my dream listing of California Honeydroppers, Vintage Trouble, elephant sessions, St Paul and the Broken bones, Allen Stone and Richard Clapton for my wish list on the other thread. If we get double the quality by easter, I'll be very very happy. Good Job Bluesfest....

Arlo Guthrie, great

I first heard Alice's restaurant on 2SM, a late night show called Thompson's Underground. The only track as long was Ina Gadda Da Vida by the Iron Butterfly. heard all of the music that was not played on regular Radio like Jefferson Airplane and all of that era's fantastic stuff.

Not bad but I'm still waiting for Eddie Vedder. His good mates Ben and Jack are on the lineup so what a trifecta that would be.

Very happy with this to kick off proceedings. Ray LaMontagne, Kurt Vile, Russell Morris, Larkin Poe, Elephant Sessions and Tex will give me a great start.

How about something for those who like to be entertained with sharp sounds.
Or for those who like to be entertained with poetry:

Ray Davies has released 2 albums in the past year or so, but has done no gigs to promote them and has none booked.
I wouldn't be holding out much hope of him being announced.

The California Honeydrops are must sees for us.

Great to see Rockwiz back.Looking forward to Larkin Poe,Elephant Sessions,Keb 'Mo,St Paul and the Broken Bones,Russell Morris,California Honeydrops and Arlo Guthrie but happy to see nearly all the artists in this announcement.

The poster Always28 mentioned Thompsons Underground session on 2SM.I think it was on Friday nights and I first heard Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross" on this show. Also jefferson Airplane,Frank Zappa,John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers come to mind and many of the psychedelic bands of the late sixties.Does anyone else remember this show?

This is "as expected" for a 30th year anniversary which usually signals the return of festival favourites, so Jack and Ben would almost certainly be announced as headliners (and rightly so) I'm looking forward to the next announcement, I'm hoping for Cousin Harley or The Paladins or some of the more obscure BF artists to turn up in the smaller tents.

I think it’s an excellent announcement. they’re all absolutely brilliant performers. I’m exceptionally happy with the return of snarky puppy. 2 years ago I gave them the perfect score. they were just unbelievably good. I was expecting all the old favourites back. A 30th party you invite all your old friends. A few new ones as well.

Only one artist on the 1st 25th announcement also on the 1st 30th.
Why is the size of the 1st announcement so large.

Perhaps it is going to be a larger lineup than recent years?? Think Think

A lot of commentary about the dearth of female artists in the first line up.
Going to be interesting to see a) if BF reply to that, and b) what that reply is.
A lot of negative commentary from female artists who've played BF in the past about that first announcement.
