"And then, we must also have new artists, one of whom in particular, I have been attempting to get confirmed for many, many years. I can’t wait to announce him in a few weeks."

I'm hoping for Eddie Vedder

Iggy's played before so doesn't meet criteria of new, but would meet the criteria of me being very very happy... Eddie would be awesome too.... but looks like Don McLean:(

Well the Stray Cats played their first show in over a decade recently & one Ryland Cooder has a stack of dates booked in the US & Europe.

Just saying...

Van the man would be my absolute fav as missing him after emigrating from Ireland in 95, where I would have seen him about twice a year, but the grumpy incredibly talented bugger just doesn't travel too far, although post divorce, he is pushing it out a bit.. He does love his old Jazz and Blues though, saw him in an Orchard in Nice Jazz Festival in 1991 with Miles Davis and he went off, if he got enough time to mouch around before playing and meet some folks he respected, we'd get a legendary party gig. If both of those don't happen, see bob Dylan gigs for how much he cares around how much the audience enjoys. He will play for himself.

What a fabulous story...Van and Miles, two of the biggest grumps imaginable blowing it away. That is some memory to have!! It would be a real coup to get him to Australia but I just think his hate of flying will be too much to get around. I saw him at jazzfest in 2007 and loved the show...and what I really liked was he put everything into it. It may not have been the perfect show, but in a lot of ways if was magnificent because of its flaws.

From the Bluesfest email.

“One thing I do want to say is.....please don’t expect artists of the level of the Rolling Stones in our next announcement...if I were to book artists of this calibre, there wouldn’t be enough budget left to book the entire festival from top to bottom.“

I think one of the main guys from Run DMC was shot dead a couple of yrs back in the studio. I don’t google.

Anyway i think that it’s the Stones they’ve been threatening for years.

Imagine Keeeeeef flaming us down with his arthritic knuckles slopping his way through an embarrassing take on 3 chords and a capo. Mick flapping around on stage like some has been theatre loiterer and Ronnie yelling it’s actually in G guys.

Which part of this do you not understand?!

Here’s a link seeing as how you “don’t google”!
