yeah, I've heard the stories on her, but since I'd go to Bluesfest anyway, I'd take the risk... Jazz Fest sounds great, but 450,000 people over 7 days doesn't sound anywhere near as punter friendly as Bluesfest. New Orleans itself is music heaven though once you get off Bourbon st...

Since Phil Emmanuel died recently I've been listening to a lot of "Emmanuel" music. I would love to see Tommy at Bluesfest in 2019. I love both his acoustic music and his electrical music so if he came along he could do one show acoustic and one show electrical.

accoustic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjHPBFy8K8E

I've got this CD but it's hard to find any youtube clips with him playing electrical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eCPMSWhdh8

I would happily sit through both shows.

Regards Glenboss

PS and then throw in a harmonic player https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J642mgHFajY

I’ve only seen Tommy once & that was at bf but not sure what year.
I was staying with a mate from Byron & after we checked the schedule we decided to give him a miss & arrive just after his set so we could have a few more prefect drinks & a smoke @ his place but then decided to go a little earlier so as not to miss what was on after Tommy.
We arrived just about 20 min into his set & after a bit of a listen were both kicking ourselves for not seeing the start as we were both blown away by what we were hearing as he was making sounds we would never of expected!
Pleased we got to see most of his set but I’m still wishing we would of made the effort to see it all as his performance was far better than we ever imagined it would be.

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
Vodka, plastic pop-off, twist one off
Yesterday I smoked, today I don't
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Thanks for that Bucette1. He's not coming to Queensland so I'll have to settle for him coming to Bluesfest !!!!

I'd love to see Didirri, Angie McMahon, Ocean Alley, Alex the Astronaut, Lord Huron and Ben Howard added to the lineup. After seeing them at Splendour they would be perfectly suited for Bluesfest next year! Plus some others I'd love to see: Damien Rice, Mark Knopfler, KT Tunstall, Ash.

Bucetti1, I get it right so seldom. I must have been "tuned in".

Please, please, please can we get Eddie Vedder (solo) for Bluesfest 2019?

Eddie's good friends Ben Harper and Jack Johnson are on the lineup next year and I am picturing a jam session with all three on stage with guest appearances at each others' sets.

I would rank the order of the probability of the artists playing at a future Bluesfest, from most likely to most unlikely as follows :
The Lumineers
John Mayall
Eric Clapton
The Rolling Stones
Peter Green.
A better bet would be to get The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band back.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.
