I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

I find it a little off putting that a band needs to rely on pyrotechnics to make their show.

Airbourne woulda went off!
the sing/guitarist usually climbs up the side of the stage or what ever he can climb
seen one time where he climbed to the top of the stage and hung upside down with his legs and played a solo
unreal

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

yeah they were truly great and hopefully they're an addition to the bluesfest bill in the coming announcements.
for a band that was touring australia the first time and with little public attention, they entertained the growing crowd solidly for a good 45 minutes.

Rammstien would be great with out the theatrics but its even better with them. Why are blues fest die hards even attending bdo? You spend all year bagging the festival? Wierd.

Rammstien a band any non blues fester should see before they die. They made tool look silly and i love tool

A lotta people on this board have very broad music tastes. I think it's quite probable in a few years that there'll be more BDO type acts (whatever that means) appearing at bluesfest if this year's jazzfest is anything to go by. It'll just be a whole lot more eclectic than BDO.

it just happens bluesfest puts on the best show anywhere on the planet year in year out, what is bluesfest anyway except a festival of real music - I can see rammstein there - why not? They rocked harder than joss stone - John Mayer - avert bros- Jess mauboy- David Gray etc - (no offense to any of those acts)

But seriously Ramstien for Bluesfest !!!!!!!!

So a pack of campy Germans playing dress-ups, taking the piss and setting themselves on fire made someone else look silly, skoty?

Macca - if you had to pick a 'roots' act from the BDO, it would have to be Iggy. Reckon he would have kicked the nonsense out of both Tool and Rammstein with one hand tied behind his back....

IMO the best story to come out of BDO so far is the brisbane band member who managed to bluff his way on to the side of stage when Rammstein were playing only to come off second best when one of the lazers scorched his leg. Not too bad apparently he's laughing about it now.

I went to the Sydney BDO 1st day.

Jim Jones Revue - Awesome a mix of Jerry Lee Lewis & the Cramps. I hope thay make it to Byron one year.
Airbourne - Were quite strong. Nice AC/DC rip off, but do it quite well.
The Greenhornes - Great blues feel to them. They have played with Jack White (The White Stripes) alot. Would not be out of place at the blues fest either.
Iggy & The Stooges - Tore the heart out of the young people waiting to see Rammstien & Tool. He was amazing for 63 didn't stop for the whole time. Great set too.
Rammstien - just not my thing to start with but do rely heavily on the theatre of their performance.
Primal Scream - They did the whole Screamadelica album. Was a great tight performance. Also something that would not be lost at the blues fest.
Grinderman - Nick Cave & the boys put on one hell of a set. Dirty rock n' roll at its best.
