Applause Who did you see filling in with other bands?

Dog Trumpet, the Doherty Bros. (their humour was great) had Jim Elliott from The Cruel Sea playing drums with them. What a metronome he is. Timing is impeccable and he hits the skins so crisply. Toss up between him and Matt Abts from Govt Mule for top drummer BF 2018!

Harry Manx had Jeff Lang on stage with he and Clayton Doley which was a real treat and surprise to the crowd.

Who else was spotted during the fest on stage playing out of their usual unit?

Loved Jeff Lang showing up....even better given he wasn't on the lineup this year.

The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tchaikovsky had the news...."

On Thursday night Warren Haynes invited Lukas Nelson to play with Gov't Mule. And they did an absolutely brilliant version of Neil Young's "Southern Man".

Rick Estrin made a guest appearance with Canned Heat at one of their shows. I can't remember what they played but Rick's harmonica playing was simply astonishing.

And on Sunday afternoon at Jambalaya Walter Trout invited his son Jon to play with the band. And Jon then played a brilliant guitar solo. Like father like son!!

Clarence Bekker sang a few songs with the California Honeydrops at their gig on Monday night. Clarence can sure sing.

I saw Clarence at The Basement in Sydney in November 2017 with Ellis Hall. Such a pity the Basement has closed. Apparently, AMP are making the club into office space. Very disappointing as many Bluesfest touring artists have played there.

Walter's son Jon, played on both sets. He's talented indeed !

Lukas Nelson and Jackson Browne guested with Gov't Mule on their Friday show - 'Rockin in the Free World' and 'Melissa'.
