All Our Exes Live in Texas - heard of them but never seen them they put on a great show.

Hurray for the Riff Raff - never heard of them, had no idea what to expect fantastic.

Hussy Hicks - seen them several times they just get better and better.

The Teskey Brothers - again had no idea what to expect very impressed.

Dog Trumpet - I remember some of the earlest "Dog Trumpet" gigs but haven't seen then for many years and they were as funny and brilliant as ever.

You can never have too much Steel Guitar!

Citizen Cope - front and centre for each of his shows. Monday night was extra special.
Clarence bekker - twice
California honey drops
Juanes
Jackson Browne
So many more... the buskers from tweed heads were fantastic early on.

I had a shaky start - apologies if u were offended admin - but my criticisms still stand Shame on you
Pain is a terrible thing and sometimes it does get the better of me. I sincerely hope next year will be the year my medication is recognised and I won’t have to drink so much to get through a festival! I’m paying for it now!

This was our first year having our adult kids with us so it was an extra special Bluesfest for us all!

I rate this year to be my best Bluesfest experience so far.
VIP staff were excellent, cheerful and helpful under difficult conditions. Really appreciated.

Lots of beautiful smiling faces. Let’s all smile more hey?

To top it off I had the pleasure of saying hello to citizen cope in the VIP area.
Next mission, get him down to the cygnet folk festival along with David Bromberg.

The 30th anniversary Bluesfest is VERY tempting!!!!

top five for 2018 for me would be...
1. eric gales on friday in delta
2. jackson browne on saturday in crossroads
3. joe louis walker on thursday in delta
4. lukas nelson & promise of the real on monday in jambalaya
5. walter trout on sunday in jambalaya.

other great sets i caught include gov't mule thursday, new power generation friday, jason isbell saturday, tash sultana sunday & harry manx with guest jeff lang on monday.

the worst set i caught over the weekend was jose gonzalez who had the worst sound mix i think i've ever heard in mojo as he was bearly audible on the disability platform & i sincerely hope his sound guy was fired on the spot for making jose look so damn bad.

looking forward to 2019 & the great weekend of music i am sure we will have to catch once again.

Oh....I forgot.......

My other #5 was Holy Holy.

Holy moley.....what a way to open, with them following the Welcome To Country, which was also fabulous.

The black man had the blues

But Tchaikovsky had the news...."
