Robert plant

Was at Robert Plant at the State on Friday. The show was an absolute trip. Very little zeppelin his new stuff especially Carry Fire got the biggest reception- I hope he brings the visuals with him as they will blow the socks off any Nimbin day trippers or anyone really.

As for the crowd, he is clearly itching to play to a more engaging Bluesfest type crowd as he had a few cracks at the typical Sydney too cool for school mob - (or are they too old to get excited) - at the end of the gig he spotted a bloke having a nap and instructed the people with him not to wake him up and made sure they left him behind..

He’s primed for Bluesfest his band are off the charts. The solo during fixing to die was the highlight. Totally different take on it. Unmissable.

Completely different crowd at Sydney Opera House last night.

Thought the Concert Hall was going to break apart the crowd was so loud.

(Robert did comment a few times about the guy falling asleep)

We loved it. His voice is still strong, the band was excellent, the sound mix great and while he played mostly his solo stuff I think the crowd embraced it though there was a notable increase in electricity around the tent during the few Zep tunes. Must confess went into my own little nirvana during Whole Lotta Love though.
Someone very quick to put setlist up but think cpl references need correcting

50% zeppelin is not at all bad.

Lemon song
thats the way
Gallows pole
Babe I'm gonna leave you
Bring it on home
Whole lotta love

Zep also did fixin to die but it didnt get official release until Plant's version on dreamland.
Can't help wondering if the present band is roughly where Plant might have taken the band from the Led Zep III album sound.
