First of all- Phew !! the forum is still here.

I've started my "clash avoidance planning"

A request to the programers.

I saw the Califoinian Honeydrops last year on the Monday night - they were the last act. It was just a brilliant way to finish off the weekend. Just brilliant. Made me finish on an absolute high. Anyway, I definitely want to see them again but not necessarily the same thing again this year. You have them scheduled as the last act each day which means every night they are competing against one of the headline acts which means it's a major sacrifice to see them. Why not bring them forward one or two days into your empty "tba" slots earlier in the day and put one of those "tba" in their old spots late at night.

I realise that if 20,000 different people each send you a request like this for each act it could be become a tad overwhelming so I thought I would get in first.

Yours in anticipation, Glenboss

Wow, thats really cool of you bluesfestadmin! Be great to hear how you get on.
I was just wondering what it would be like to allow punters to get behind planning the playing schedule, or at least a few final slots of the night.
Has that ever been considered? Perhaps by way of voting. Just a thought.

I agree with Glenboss.
That was also the only opportunity I had to catch their set at Bluesfest 2017.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Without doubt the planning out of the program would be a really complex (and fascinating) job. You people would need to factor in the popularity of the bands, the types of music they play, the playing preferences requested from the acts (all the contractual stuff), the themes of the tents, the control of traffic flow around Bluesfest, the touring arrangements of the bands, the balancing of main acts each day, the balance of the days themselves, and probably 100 other things I haven't even thought about, and now added to that long list - what Glenboss wants !!!

Whilst I'n not holding my breath on any change being made I do appreciate your response. So thank you.

Regards Glenboss

And if they did change it, you would certainly make my day.

Completely agree. I missed them last year because they clashed with the headliner, and looks like i'll be missing them again this year as there's no way I can justifying missing Robert Plant to see them.

Major letdown as they were one of the bands I really wanted to see this year, and one of the only bands my partner is interested in seeing so she's disappointed too.

As we are only going for the Friday this year I understand there has to be sacrifices but it's a shame to miss this great band 2 years in a row for the same reason.

The California Honeydrops are one of my must sees this year based purely on the festival closing set they played last year on Monday night. I hope you can bring them on earlier on at least one of the days Bluesfest.

Well you certainly did make my day !!!!!!!!!!! Hugs all round !!!

What a great way to start Sunday afternoon. I've often thought since seeing them last year they would be the perfect Sunday afternoon concert in the park. Sunny afternoon, soaking up the rays, bottle of wine, just enjoying that feel good music. Well I mightn't have the bottle of wine and I mightn't be soaking up the rays, but 2 out of 4 ain't bad.
