So many great acts to choose...where do I start..
Definitely Nile Rodgers again - Gotta have that 70's dance element.
- The Gap Band - for even more non stop dancing
- Donald Fagen. I have requested him many times. As Steely Dan, solo, or with Michael McDonald & Boz Scaggs as The Dukes of September.
- John Fogerty
- Paul Rodgers
- Jeff Beck
- Steve Miller
- Peter Frampton
- Van Morrison ( a long shot I think..)
- Tracey Thorne (ex Everything but the girl)
- Jamiroquai
- Brian Setzer
- Hoodoo Gurus
- Vintage Trouble

Ahh.. That's just a narrow list of my requests. To be continued. Although, it's always a good surprise seeing artists Bluesfest have introduced me to. Eg. Dumpstaphunk, Bobby Rush...wow. Good job Bluesfest.

Considering Jason Isbell appeared on just about every top 5 and far more than any of the headliners he out scoured Plant and Lionelby a country mile it’s only right that he comes back next year wth his Mrs who is a major factor in the band. The only ones that didn’t vote for him where those that missed him so do everyone a favour!! I’d buy a five day on his inclusion alone.

One of the main reasons I like him is that my tired old brain can actually hear and understand his lyrics. He has great diction!!

Loving all the suggestions to date.
Here’s my two cents worth.

The biggies -

Eric Clapton (and John Mayall) – no explanation required
Stevie Wonder – as above
Van Morrison - he touring US and Europe this summer so no harm asking again
Jack White – they say he is one of the best blues guitarists around
Brooooce – if no further Broadway commitments!
Neil Young – Lukas Nelson already coming so get on the plane you old grump
Dolly Parton – Monday night close?
Peter Gabriel (with Afro Celt Sound System) - yes please

The hopefuls and more likelies -

Walter Trout
Band of Friends - Davy Knowles’ Rory Gallagher tribute
Peter Frampton
Jason Isbell
Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa together
Paloma Faith (with Vintage Trouble)
Rhiannon Giddens
Bonnie Raitt
Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls
Elephant Sessions - every night
Shooglenifty
Brian Setzer Orchestra
George Thorogood
Nile Rodgers and Chic
Trombone Shorty
War on Drugs
Fiddlers Bid
Simple Minds
Steve Earle
Tedeschi Trucks
Chrissie Hynde
The Weather Station
Earth Wind and Fire
Flogging Molly
Dropkick Murphys
Thea Gilmore
Allen Stone
Ben Folds
Elvis Costello
The BoDeans
Chris Isaak
George Benson
Alanis Morrisette
Rag n Bone Man
Matt Andersen
Irish Mythen
Ryan McMullen

The Aussies -

Gang of Youths
Nick Cave
Claire Ann Taylor
Paul Kelly with Vika and Linda Bull
Kate Miller-Heidke
Missy Higgins
Holy Holy
Vance Joy
Melbourne Ska Orchestra
Plus next year will be 30 years since Oils’ Blue Sky Mining

And how about one tent dedicated to blues artists from near and far for all five days? Truly celebrate the festival’s roots.

Finally, maybe welcome back Rockwiz – with a focus on the blues of course

I prefer to be entertained rather than preached to.I saw his set at his first Bluesfest appearance & it was not me.So I deliberately missed his 2018 sets.
Today I watched Chris Isaak,Watermelon Slim,Dave Alvin,Rod Piazza.Steve Miller Band on DVD.Entertaining instrumentation.

Just listening to Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds (great suggestion from my son, Terry). They would be great.
Peter Frampton - saw him at the vineyards with America, Chicago and Brian Wilson - he had the least time on stage but was the best.....
Rebecca Johnson Band - great Australian funk band, especially when doing their own music, just brilliant. Check her on Spotify.
Clayton and Lachy Doley
Totally impressed with the majority of the previous suggestions. If 10% of the above turned up, I would be in heaven and that is what the 30th should be.....

My question is does Casey swing.
A musical package now rarely seen at Bluesfest.
That was what I loved about Candye Kane.

Seeing Neil and Crazy Horse doing more shows recently particularly with Nils Lofgren- why not try and bring Nils out admin?

He is a great talent and if NY won't come over to Ozz, Nils featured on a lot of early Neil albums and songs and for my money would provide a show to remember. His guitar playing is fantastic.

Like I said it looks like only those that didn’t see him didn’t have him in their top 5, you proved my point old chap.
