I seem to remember one of the regular nutjobs on this forum used to advocate for Steven Seagal, saying how great he would be for Bluesfest.
Here's an interesting piece about that fine gentleman:

Yep,

key word is “accused” - Right now Hollywood is a dangerous place accusations flying left right and center, all men guilty until proven innocent. All it takes is a tweet. Seagal has always been an advocate for justice and even tackled crime head on and walked the walk in Steven Seagal Lawman.

Some rave reviews from this gig in the hard rock I attended with some festival regulars... he’s a legend, these accusations will block his Grammy, it’s obvious his relationship with Putin has cost him his oscars.

Let's see

People are getting flushed out. Craig McLaughlin looked OK until the weight of progressive and growing evidence caused a revaluation of the "stall of the star". Everyday people have no power against celebrities. Let's see what happens...

He’s an idiot and a terrible actor. You seem to be made from the same mould.

Let’s get back to the music.

In the current environment only an idiot posts insulting messages on social media, you must be a big trump fan. He gets a pass as he’s the POTUS.

As for his acting credentials he starred in a movie a month last year (popular), as for the music he’s as qualified as any:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYnGkqP1fTY&sns=em

Craig McLaughan is in big trouble, a lot of out of Work actresses have teamed up to expose him as a serial creep while he worked on some moronic sex comedy musical while wearing woman’s underwear.

If his career can recover from his stand up meltdown on the footy show it can recover from anything.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVFeAOPToYo&sns=em

Then again we have Boy George on family TV in Australia and he did time for kidnap and sexual assault. Not sure why he gets a pass?

But back to the music an alternative to Seagal perhaps could play with the blues brothers. He’s never toured Australia.

here’s a recent review.

It’s from a leftie newspaper - giving him a good wrap strangely enough.

We have enough politically correct artists on the line up - all the forced quotas set by the minority pressure groups that scream the louder than everyone else have been met.

Let’s balance it out with a red blooded tough guy that’s been on top of his game for nearly 50 yrs.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jul/18/steven-seagal-and-his-blues-band-review-glasgow

The last time I heard Songs from the Crystal cave was in the merch tent at BF on the Monday night last year, one of the patrons who looked like a fair dinkum patriot said he was hoping to see Seagal appear in 2019.

Lots of people calling for genuine acts - you don’t get any more genuine that Seagal – he’s played with BB King and Chuck Berry. He’s starred alongside Tommy Lee Jones and Stone Cold Steve Austin, he’s a true patriot, a man that spreads peace, fights for the rights of man and animal and the environment.

His announcement would probably break attendance records for this and every other festival in Australia New Zealand and the pacific nations combined. Imagine him on the big screens of the Mojo fans backing up to the entry gate to get a glimpse of this enigma – the man the myth the legend. Sometimes controversial always Pro- environment.

Franti, Bulter and their mates with their little stop Adana flag’s last year wouldn’t be able to hold a candle to the impact that Seagal would have in stopping these monsters.

Franti would try to stop the destruction of our land by handing out flowers – Seagal shows us the only way it can be done in many of his early 2000 movies where he takes on the corporations. Socially conscious messages like Nahko but also with his impact in the cinema teaching us all these corporations understand is damage.

These corporations controlled by Soros are not only responsible for the destruction of the planet but the dumbing down of society with his cronies owning 7 of the major film studios worldwide and most of the record companies - controlling the airwaves and polluting us with nonsensical pop trash.

If that review isn't enough for Bluesfest to announce him, nothing will.
It would be a great shame if this brilliant exponent of the blues doesn't grace the Mojo stage this year.
I totally agree with Gerty-the crowds wanting to see him would be overwhelming.
Perhaps Bluesfest are concerned with the security measures required.

When they go low-we go high.

Is it these Finnish guys? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc
