ASGIER is great, not sure if we can do the Friday as well though yet, may have to try to catch him on a side show.

Harry Manx, Asgier, Afro Celt Soundsystem all excellent choices. Blues and Roots would encompass world music too. Melissa Etheridge was outstanding 2 years ago and a very welcome return. Sheryl Crow is another solid selection. Kesha? Ok looking at comments I'll hold a response until checking out the album. Generally speaking I avoid listening to current 'pop'. As with all announcements there are names new to me - just means I need to do some research. It's rare to ve disappointed by Bluesfest artists - generally the complaint is it's impossible to see everyone you want to.

Only song I know by Sheryl Crow & is a great cover.

The above website is not a bad place to start to get a broad perspective of British album reviews. And the general view of Kesha's latest is positive.

So maybe Mr Noble and associates are on to something.

Well the rest....Harry Manx & Clayton Doley were absolutely fantastic at Bluesfest 2012.
Inspired touch to have Clayton on board a year before Ray Manzarek left this world.
Harry Manx is a unique artist & I thank Bluesfest for booking him again.

donny20 -

one of the last of the american recordings series johnny cash did with rick rubin has one particularly outstanding song, I'd assumed was the leonard or tom waits tune - seriously. It turns out to be a sheryl crow song. best song on a very strong album for my money.

I'm not a fan and know nothing about her apart from the one hit here, but this was simply outstanding. I for one am very keen. sermon ends.

A SETLIST and recent concert...in which she does a version of allman brothers midnight rider with lucas nelson.
I certainly wouldn't judge a bluesfest artist by their previous hit songs.....many of them don't have any.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Who needs Nick Cave or Neil Young when you have William Crichton.
Bluesfest needs something dark, and William is it.
I will be there, and if you are not there then you are a square.

Have to concur.....would be great to have either of those (and preferably both).

The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tchaikovsky had the news...."

No one is going to convince me to take Ke$ha seriously sorry...
But that's ok! We can all have an opinion and I'm not going on Thursday anyway.
Looks like we are now doing Friday and Sunday day tickets, which will give us Saturday to catch up with some local friends, can't wait!
After seeing Paul McCartney the other night we decided we must see the legends while they are still with us so excited to see Robert Plant on the Friday.

I saw Paul McCartney on Saturday night in Brisbane.. never in my life did I think I would ever get to see Paul sing Let it Be live. Loved the whole show. I am excited about seeing Robert Plant too. One of the things I love most about Bluesfest is the chance to see the legends and it's one of the main reasons I go.

We were at the Brisbane show too!
I was always much more of a Lennon fan and was going mostly for my Mum who is too old to attend these things now, she loves Paul.
But I was blown away at his whole performance and didn't realise how much all of those songs meant to me growing up with them.
So glad I got to see him, what a Legend he is!
