sorry to say but i think you didn't read the post right... its a bluesfest touring announcement, as in sideshows for artists already announced, sorry to say but i've seen that a bit & just wanted to point it out as people seem to miss the fact bluesfest touring was tagged in the facebook post re tomorrows news.

Is it just me or does Brisbane have zero sideshows so far next year?
I know we don't always get the big stuff but we usually get quite a few sideshows at the Tivoli...

Brisbane is only 180kms north of Byron Bay.
Not very far to drive in NZ terms, let alone the vast road distances you have in Au.
I will drive 160kms to Dunedin for a show by local artists.

We already have Sunday tickets for Bluesfest anyway but I meant in general and not just for myself, some people don't have cars.
Plus you have to add hotels on top of that as driving for 3 hours home after a gig isn't smart driving. Very likely to be tired.
I saw Mavis at the Powerhouse, such a great intimate show and have seen a few shows at the Tivoli in the past.
Maybe they will add some shows here, still many artists to be announced.

Obvious additions all have played bluesfest before.

Neill Diamond (in oz same time)
Gab and Rob (in oz same time)
Steve Earl (said he’d be there)
Fishbone (loud band)
Damien Dempsey or Luka Bloom (replacing irish mitten)
Busta Rymes acoustic (the thurs rap show)

These will be added to the U2 announcement.

SEAL has been pushed to the top of the playing schedule for Sunday.
I'm now assuming he will be headlining one stage and will have an orchestra backing him up like his other tour dates :)

Agree re the Avett Brothers - would love to see them back. (think their drummer is one of the best I have ever seen)

Also Carney (Reeve & Zane) - don't know if they are still playing together, but would be fantastic if they came back too

As Roger Waters will have left Australia at the end of February, maybe David Gilmour would come to Australia at the end of March.

The undercard is pretty good, but we really do need some big names don`t we.At the moment our two big acts are a ''king of the cocktail lounge circuit'',Lionel Ritchie and judging by his last appearance here,an obviously over the hill, voice gone Robert Plant. Here`s hoping.

Would love to see Paul Rodgers would be fantastic. Disagree with comments about Robert Plant, thought his Bluesfest show was awesome.
