so happy to see that walter trout is finally coming back after his 2014 cancelation, this will be a highlight of the festival, not to mention the rest of the blues names on this already stacked lineup.

He's actually a fantastic singer live and a great energetic performer.

I noticed he's releasing a "standards" covers album in November, hopefully he doesn't croon us all to sleep and does a greatest hits set instead!

Seal's new album may be fantastic
this from the bluesfest site "To rekindle that spark, he enlisted the help of an A-list cadre of musicians notable for their work with these titans, namely Randy Waldman [pianist who toured with Sinatra and Paul Anka], Chuck Berghofer [bass player who performed with Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles], and Greg Fields [drummer who also performed with Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder"

If he brings this band with him - wonderful.

Nicely done BF. Very happy with the return of Jason Isbell for two sets this time. Saw clips of Rag n Bone Man from Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festivals and think he will be something to behold - like Canada’s Matt Anderson he is a big man with a big voice. Gomez also a welcome addition.

Starting to get excited. Some great additions in Gomez, Teskey Bros., Walter Trout.

I really like the sound of these guys.
Got a Indie Type Dunedin Sound to it.

Sadly (in hindsight) that’s exactly what I thought when Tom Jones was announced 2 years ago. I just couldn’t help but wonder why on earth would they have or want Tom Jones at Bluesfest. I’ve never been a fan and never particularly liked all his old songs. Having said that I have at least appreciated he’s got a great voice. So that year, on the way to another show, I decided to make a 10 minute detour via the Tom Jones tent just so I could say I’ve seen him in real life. Even dragged one of my sons along with me. Anyway…….. 2 hours later we moved on. What a magnificent show !!!! It would be the only time at Bluesfest when the volume of the band actually went down because it was the voice that was the powerful instrument on the night. All those old songs I never really liked, just loved them on the night. So that taught me that never again will I be so negative on any show Bluesfest announces. Bluesfest has given me so much wonderful music I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on any announcement.

I have never even heard a Seal song, not one, and I have absolutely no idea what he would be like. I know he’s on that TV show but I don’t watch that either. I’ll probably put my head in the tent for 10 minutes just to see. If I end up staying for 2 hours like I did for Tom Jones then that’ll be my bonus. If I don’t then I’ll be in one of the other wonderful tents. Either way it’s a win win for me.

Dear Admin,

The first announcement came with videos of each of the acts being announced. The second announcement doesn't have them. Why would that be ?

Not a complaint, just curious.
