Only just heard this sad news.

They got the cocaine, oxycontin, mushrooms, marijuana
Vodka, plastic pop-off, twist one off
Yesterday I smoked, today I don't
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Gone now. What a sad day all round particularly in US.

Petty was one of the greats. Brilliant songwriter. So many wonderful songs.

Think will watch Peter bogdanovich 4 hour doco Running down a Dream again tonight.

Just watched the 2007 Doco, Runnin' down a dream, directed by Peter Bogdanovich

Wow wee, such an influential musician, he changed the industry for recording artists for the better.
I am so very sad that I missed the opportunity to catch him play in Australia when he toured.
In my defense, back then I was young, naive, and if I am honest unaware of the musical genius that was Tom Petty.

It's such sad news. When you go through his back catalogue, it's just amazing how many songs are familiar. RIP Tom.

Tom Petty's Cause of Death: Accidental Overdose
Singer had been taking several pain medications, including Fentanyl and oxycodone, to treat fractured hip and other issues

Thanks Coke. He went out doing what he loved, much like Gregg Allman at his passing.

I was devastated Waffles but I was also thankful that I got to see them play live. Hope you're keeping well! We're still bluesfesting and have reached a compromise ... camp at Brunswick Heads, go crabbing and fishing in the mornings, festival in the afternoon and evenings.

PS I really miss Govindas at the festival!
