Looking forward to seeing Lucas Nelson and the California Honeydrops again as well as Bobby Rush and Rick Estrin for the first time. The Mule will be great too.

Word around there campfire is that they are in negotiations with some big acts. The inside tip is that there will be acts from the past present and future. Some international names and even a few home grown ones. One thing from my sources that is certain is that there will be one or two names that have played the festival before.

Wont say i told you so!

Excellent first line up - Bring back Damien Dempsey and give her that Irish Mythn slot she's had for the last 2 yrs. Need legit celtic stuff thats been missing for the last few yrs. He played the other night in Sydney and it was amazing hes come a long way with the full band. Perfect timing for a return.

Great to see Robert Plant back as i thought that was a one off. Top quality announcement. Hats off.

Once again Bluesfest have left no stone unturned with a superlative first line up.

Bluesfest always listens to its audience.
That is why we have the pleasure of California Honeydrops back for every day in 2018.
And looks we can expect Kid to guest with them.

Woohoo! Off to a great start with the 1st artist announcement. So excited Nile Rodgers & Chic are playing. Saw them 5-6 years ago at the Metro in Sydney and they were funkin' great. Good Times......

This is an outstanding first announcement. Classic artists , appropriate mix of genres, recent returning artists and big names worthy of headlining. One can only wonder what is to come after setting this out as the first bunch of artists. Well done Peter and team.
Must admit I've been holding off pre-purchasing this year after committing previously before any announcement as I was starting to have my doubts about the direction but I will be locking in another easter at Byron now.

Now if only admin would lift my FB page commenting ban - I promise I won't make anymore Jimmy Buffet Wiggles comparisons...damn..guess I just blew that chance again

Thank you Peter and team for a very solid start to the line-up. Some great blues, guitarists, legends and emerging artists. The Mule alone have made my earlybird purchase worthwhile.

very pleased with this announcement... when they give me gov't mule, lukas nelson, eric gales & joe louis walker first up you know this is going to be a great festival. hoping to catch the california honeydrops & dumpstaphunk this time as i missed them last time. now to wait for the next batch of names & if they are as good as this 2018 could be one of the great lineups.

I think of all the amazing guitarists I've seen at Bluesfest over the last several years, Joe Louis Walker was the most enjoyable I've seen. To me he is one of the highlights of this announcement. California Honeydrops was the very last show I saw last year on the Monday night and I gave them a 10 out 10 for being just plain "feel good" music. John Butler and Robert Plant !!!! It's going to be an awesome Bluesfest. I'm still on a bit of a high from the last one.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Last weekend I attended the Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Fest. On the bill was Gerry Joe Weise who played the 30th annniversary of the first gig of the Jimi Hendrix Experience which happened in France in 1966 . Noel Redding also played and Jimi's girlfriend also attended the anniversary gig.

It was a great weekend at Mitchell Creek and Gerry had just got back from a promotional gig in Chicago for Blues Breaker records which also had Steve Miller on the bill.

Just sayin' he'd probably go alright at Byron.

I just found out he's 67 years old. Looks younger. They would have been in their early 20s. The wonder years.

How good does Friday look already......the pessimist in me says that I will have clashes. What a great problem to have.

Once again thank you Peter and crew.

Another strong start for a first announcment,
Amazes me how they (bluesfest) can surprise us each time.

What will make Bluesfest unmissable will be the announcement of Tim Rogers.

When they go low-we go high.
