Santa brought me Keef's autobiography "Life" for Christmas...and I thoroughly recommend it.

I'm only a little way through but particularly enjoying learning about the blues influences on the band.

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

I am three quarters the way through "Life" and loving it, fascinating reading.

Good companion book is Ronnie Wood's one " Ronnie" . Has been around for a while now so you can probably pick it up cheap. I am about to start Keef's book having read Ronnie cover to cover between London & KL yesterday.

I am now nearly finished it. Observations:

- there is no doubt he loves (and knows) his blues
- I heard Mick wasn't happy with the book, but Keith has been pretty complementary..
- Methinks he is glossing over his vices (then again, don't we all)...downplaying his raging smack habit's effect on the band in the 70s, little acknowledgement his excessive alcohol consumption, romanticising the experience of his young children in his crazy world
- facinating how songs come together for them (the 2 year gestation of 'Start Me Up' compared to their other tracks which were created typically within a day or so; stealing "Its Only Rock n Roll" from David Bowie)

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

My wife bought me the Audio book of Keef's Life for Christmas (I usually scoff at these audio books BUT...) we have been doing a lot of driving around over the last few weeks and it has been great to hear this book in Keith's voice, telling his own story and Johnny Depp's voice taking on other parts...absolutely brilliant 20 discs - a great listen!
