I am a Byron Bay based Record dealer and I am looking to hold a record fair at a hall close to the festival on the easter weekend. I will let people know when it is locked in. I have close to 30000 lps and singles and have a vast collection of blues rock, world jazz funk soul hip hop and disco.

Presumably you are internet based as the economics of operating a shop selling vinyl would not be great, particularly in a non metropolitan area.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

My team of researchers has come up with this

http://www.inthemix.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=277921

Record Fairs!
My man Matt from Byron is doing the rounds again at record fairs, and if last time was anything to go by, he will have a whole bunch of disco stuff and heaps of other great records from his trip to the states across al genres. Well worth checking him out!

Here's what he would post here if he could!

Upcoming record Fairs

I am off on a 3.5 week road trip, I have packed my van with 80 crates worth of hand picked goodness so i hope to meet some of you fellow aussie strutters at some of the fairs. My shipment recently arrived from the US (8000 records) and there is something for everyone ..

I will be at
Box Hill Fair Melb(sunday 8th Aug)
Vinyl Palooza Adelaide (21 and 22 Aug)
Parramatta Fair Sydney (29 aug)
West End Fair Brisbane (4th September)

Also Butter Beats in Brisbane is having a $2 fair this Saturday my wife will be taking 30 crates there on my behalf

so for all info on these and future fairs

Note to self: buy Greybeard a stiff drink (or pay a pretty girl to spike his drink).
He knows stuff.

Wow your googling skills astound me. I travel all over Australia to sell vinyl and do well out of it. I will be having a fair on the Sunday and Monday of Bluesfest plus my regular market stall at Byron Market.

There was a 2nd hand record shop in Byron Bay for years but the rents in town killed it. I do sell online my rarer stuff ($50+) as selling $10 records online is a pain in the ass. By the time you have answered emails and been to the post office its a kind of false economy.

I have booked Ewingsdale Hall on The Sunday and Monday (24th and 25th April). The Hall is near the Byron bay exit and Pacific Highway. I will have plenty of signs up.

Tonnes of quality records on offer and I am glad Dylan is playing as I must have over 100 Dylan lps for sale spread the word

Received my April 2011 Rhythms magazine in the mail today.

All 103 pages of it,with the casual price as per the cover being only $8.50.

The quantity and quality of the reading material contained within is mindblowing.

What a steal at the price.

Has there been a better edition of Rhythms magazine ?

Is this going to be the best Bluesfest ever ?

And to cap it off,Byron Record Fair has an advertisement on page 77.

Thinking of vinyl, did anyone partake in the now-international event that is Record Store Day?

I just got back having picked up a few goodies. Worth the hour and a half wait in queue. They are doing some sexy things with vinyle now. A clear vinyl reissue of The Scientists' first single? That just makes me feel good all over.

Free in-store by Chilly Gonzalez (to go off topic for a moment). The guy is a phenom on a piano, and a top notch stage-banterer (I think I just invented a word). Anybody who likes upbeat piano music should check him out, specifically the Solo Piano and Ivory Tower records. A unique individual.
