So far Sarah what you told us at Narooma seems to be coming true if the Age is correct, you do have a great source (I won't spill the beans on who he is).

BTW did you see The Who on payTV last night in their 2006 gig at the Roundhouse for BBC...still got it!

Hi All

If Dylan is headlining, when do they announce the specific date, and are single day tickets available?

How does this work generally in terms of ticket release and date choices?

Any help appreciated

Single day tickets are generally made available at the same time as the daily playing schedules so it typicallyworks out quite nicely.

Saw Dylan 2 nights ago in Indianapolis (and 3 nights ago in Chicago, and 4 nights ago in Kalamazoo, 5 nights ago in Ann Arbor). Needless to say,the only bad thing about this news is trying to balance seeing him and some sideshows along the way. Give Bob a few days off before/after his Bluesfest appearance Pete... for my sake!

The band's on fire these days. It'll be a treat!

I guess you only read the headline & not the article!!!! Coz BB King gets a mention in the article!!!!

IT HAS taken almost a decade of pursuit, but the Byron Bay Bluesfest has landed Bob Dylan (below) as their headline act.

The legendary singer-songwriter will headline next year's event, which will run over the Easter weekend next year - as it has each year since 1990 - from April 21 through 25.

Festival director Peter Noble will this morning unveil the first list of acts to perform.

Advertisement: Story continues below Once again, the acts chosen belies the event's name by blending genres, demographics and sounds.

Mississippi-bred blues veteran B.B. King, 85, will return, along with Californian crossover star Ben Harper and rock legend Elvis Costello.

Others to be announced include Michael Franti, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Melbourne pop troupe the Cat Empire, Blind Boys of Alabama featuring Aaron Neville, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, funk soul pedal-steel maestro Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Fistful of Mercy - featuring George Harrison's son Dhani, Mavis Staples Surf Coast didgeridoo specialist Xavier Rudd, Trinity Roots, Little Bushman, Tony Joe White, Indigo Girls, Kate Miller-Heidke, and local bluesmen C.W. Stoneking and Jeff Lang.

Dylan, B.B. King and Elvis Costello are expected to announce headline shows in Melbourne next year.

Dylan is gonna be great!!!!!!

so what ever happened to robert plant??

When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
And it's Eastertime too
And your gravity fails
And negativity don't pull you through
Don't put on any airs
When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
They got some hungry women there
And they really make a mess outta you.

B. Dylan

Note to mgwfall that i posted that prediction on September 16th, just under two months ago!

I still stand by my prediction for Mr Plant but I reckon they will save that for the 2nd announcement and I reckon he will have a pretty good support band with him too!

So Bob is only playing on the Monday?
Thats a bummer for weekend only ticket holders. So if I want to see BB King as well, I have to buy a 5 day ticket?
Lineup needs more folk, country before I make any decisions.

You are overlooking that as a massive Kate Bush fan,you do have Kate Miller-Heidke to look forward to.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

I can't stand Kate Miller-Heidke, she is nothing like Kate Bush except for being a pale imitation.
Nevertheless, I look forward to the 2nd announcement.

a bit of irony regarding dylan.about 10 ?years ago,a promoter tried to put dylan on in an open air concert in a field near byron bay.there was the normal nimby uproar and the concert
ended up in ballina at the football field.
now hes at bluesfest-not a kilometre from where the original concert site was. and dylan was quoted as saying -dont book me in places i dont know. hope hes heard of tyagarah.

on another note, both derek trucks and robert randolph have dylan songs on there new cds.trucks-down in the flood.randolph-shot of love.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

Loneranger dude. If you like Kate Bush , you should have a listen to Joanna Newsome.... She is magic. Cheers.
