I'll definitely be at one of them if not both! Busy week....Cedric Burnside and Lightnin Malcolm are also playing at the Corner on Wed Sept 29.

Maybe at the Sydney show if the stars align.

Trumpet bells ringing
Bass drum is swinging
As the trombone groans
And the big horn moans

Just Booked Tickets for the Dunedin show 23rd September.
$42.50 is very cheap.
How can the promoter make money at this price ?

The promoter will make his money I'm sure he would'nt be doing it for love alone mr ranger...the ticket price would be dictated by the popularity of the artist....Are they likely to fill up these venues they are playing???

I've been to The San Francisco Bathhouse in Wellington.
It is very basic and small...by small I mean would only fit a couple of hundred...probably only as many as the Powerstation in Auckland would fit upstairs.

Refuel In Dunedin I do not know, but as it is only a bar,it will be small.

Patrick, I saw CC Adcock and the Lafayette Marquis, Theresa Anderson, and Papa Mali (with guest spots by Cyril Neville and Big Sam Williams), an insane triple header, in New Orleans for $US15 a few years ago. Four amazing hours of live music (with CC ripping it up in front of about 30 people at 2.30am). Really good musicians...legends...don't make a whole lotta money. Gawd, I saw Henry Butler with some of New Orleans finest at the Maple Leaf last year for nothing .... absolutely no cover charge. I think it's criminal that some of the finest musicians on the planet still struggle to make a decent living (compared with others who make an obscene amount of money). I reckon the boys in LBOG would be simply over the moon that there's an enthusiastic audience for their music on the other side of the planet ... and are delighted to perform. It's so important to keep supporting them.

i spoke to someone today who has paid $500 for 2 tickets to the eagles in brisbane-and they are only gold seats, platinum apparently were dearer.

I don't want to hang up my rock n roll shoes
I get a good time feeling every time I hear those blues.

You would have to pay me to go and see the Eagles.
Metallica seems to be the big thing here at present.
And Bon Jovi for the ladies coming up in due course.
They started a petition to get them to come to Christchurch which succeeded.
MetallicaTickets for sale on Trade Me starting bid $680 for two.
I note alot also for sale on Ebay.
Don't know anything about Metallica but watched the Jools Holland DVD "Louder" today, which featured a Metallica track.
Unimpressed compared to alot of the other bands featured.
New Order was a very impressive band on that DVD I would have liked to have seen.
