The new Steve Miller album is great(& well named) it covers 10 blues classics but if you want some real value get the special edition - 4 bonus tracks & all winners IMHO.

It's a look back at the the electric blues and R&B that influenced him as a young man, also the final recorded appearance of blues harmonica great Norton Buffalo who passed away in 2009.

Blues classics by B.B. King, Lowell Fulsom, Otis Rush, Howlin' Wolf, Earl King, Jimmy Reed, and Jessie Hill are here, along with three selections by contemporary bluesman Jimmie Vaughan.

In the studio sessions miller recorded 42 songs.

He has more than enough material for two albums so he plans to release a second album from those sessions next year.

Among the songs slated for the next album are Reed's "Close Together," Junior Wells' "Snatch It Back and Hold It," Roscoe Gordon's "No More Doggin'," Muddy Waters' "Can't Be Satisfied," Robert Johnson's "Sweet Home Chicago" and Jimmy McCracklin's "The Walk."

I for one would like to see this band play @ bf.

here is the track list

hey yeah
who's been talkin'
don't cha know
rock me baby
tramp
sweet soul vibe
come on (let the good times roll)
all your love (i miss loving)
you got me dizzy
ooh poo pah doo

bonus tracks (on special edition)

ain't that lovin' you baby
further on up the road
look on yonder wall
drivin' wheel

A couple of tracks from the album.

I wonder what he will name the next album? Bongo has a nice ring to it!

I suspect it won't be named "CokeBloke", but you never know....

When I was in the US last year looking at guitars, I came upon Guitar Showcase in San Jose (www.guitarshowcase.com), which has quite a collection of Steve Miller's autographed guitars for sale. Worth a look but, alas, out of my price range.

I'm confused
Why is it a cricket ball in the foreperson's hand, and why did the distant cowboy, using an orthodox action, bowl a chair ?

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

How fortunate we are here on BF Forum to have a member as dedicated as dear ol' Greybeard. Someone committed to a never-ending search for blues music
that is new and exciting and so willing to share his discoveries with like minded boardies. And now he has done it yet again with a clip guaranteed to set your
spine tingling and your toes curling and tapping ! This rocks !
Thank you Greybeard, I just hope that someday (soon) I discover something equally compelling to share (inflict) with you in return.
Cheers, Don
