I would like to say that the festival was amazing, however a two hour wait on Saturday for the bus to Byron was horrible. To speed up the process the ticket price to the festival should include the bus fare that way the buses will load quicker and more people will be encouraged to catch public transport.

I didn't have to catch the bus this year but in previous years a 1 hour wait would have been pretty good. Best Bluesfest yet.

It sounds like a good period of time to do what you plan. No need for a 4WD, you will be able to access plenty in a standard camper. Why not has NYE in Sydney? should be wild they have huge celebrations. Then, after you have recoved, amble up the coast to Byron

I'm hoping for a bit of advice from anybody who has been along the SE coast of Oz. Will be arriving in Melbourne on 18th Dec & have 4 weeks to spend over christmas and new years. The plan so far is to drive from Melbourne to Sydney along the Princes Highway,

I'm planning an RTW trip for 2010-2011... By November I hope to be backpacking Eastern Europe before heading into the Middle East.
I don't know if either of you would be interested in meeting up at some point or travelling togethe
