My biggest clashes seem to involve the Avett Brothers on each of the first two nights. Thursday, they clash with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express and their only appearance (unless I have once again misread the schedule). Friday night, they are up against Al Di Meola and Rodriguez. To get there on Friday, I would have to leave Crossroads (where I plan on being most of the day) and trek all the way across the grounds to Mojo where the JBT crowd will already be gathering. This isn't the only clash, but it seems to be the most troubling at the moment. What are your biggest clashes at the moment?
Stepping back from my whinge and looking at the "problem", it sure is a good problem to have!

Don't miss Rodriguez I say...probly won't ever be back in Oz..

Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

Entirely possible that this will be the case - though the same could have been said after the last time he was here.......

I have the Rodriguez/Al Di Meola Friday clash, the Rodriguez/Peter Green Sunday clash and the Peter Green/Justin Townes Earle Monday clash. Basically, if I am happy to see all of those acts for just one set, I can do it. But as soon as I want to see them more than once (JTE being a leading contender), the whole thing falls apart.

Banawarun look to be clash casualties unfortunately
The choice between Jools Holland and the Dynamites remains undecided
Seeing far less Music Maker than I would like, but have at least one full set booked in for them
Missing one of the 3 Lil Band O Gold sets for the only Gipsy Kings set
Orquestra Buena Vista Social Club miss out
Might have to miss Taj this time too.....

Rodriguez in Crossroads a few years ago was a bizarre experience and totally unmissable IMHO!

You reckon you've got clashes, try parenthood and live music... (Great clash to have though and I wouldn't not have it!)

Reg,

I've got the same clashes, two to be exact. Luckily, I have a partner who is very understanding about an absentee partner and father every Easter.
I've had to limit my live music experiences, but Bluesfest is a mutual understanding.

This is me as well, exactly.
Luckily I only live half an hour away and can still get the mornings in although after a few days, it's all kind of hazy.

I'm going to have to sit down and work out where I want be this year. Argh........ sensory overload. So much music I'm not familiar with, but has a good rap from folks, Verses stuff I know I'll dig and have seen bits of before. I guess it's best to just go with tha flow until I get some more recommendations on the day/s. 29 days and counting... Hope the weather gods are kind.

Hoping next year I can make the trip with the little one, but one income is proving a killer for music festivals and travel.

Trumpet bells ringing
Bass drum is swinging
As the trombone groans
And the big horn moans
