My Bluesfest travelling companion and his ex Bluesfest travelling companion got caught out in this way.

They flew into Brisbane and stopped off in Coolangatta.

They then went to get a bus further south, and did not understand that crossing the street meant they were in a different state and that the clocks were an hour different on the other side of the street.

They missed their bus.

No it is not Jarrod.

You must not have been on the Forum when I posted about me and my travelling companion ending up in Newcastle instead of Moruya whilst on our way to Narooma last labour weekend.

Was it Guy Davis weho vitually ran on stage half an hour late a few years back (the Porta-Loo stage at Red Devil), complaining about changing time zones?

A brief recap for those newcomers

Quote:
..........
When we flew over to Narooma this year, myself and my navigator made a slight error of judgement.

I hadn't been to bed the night before we flew over, and then we had to take three flights to get to Sydney, which took 10 hours all up.

I picked the rental car up about 5.30pm and planned to be at Moruya by 10.00pm.

The rental car lady was busy and flustered,so we didn't get given a map,and there was none in the car.

We got down to Wollongong in rush hour traffic as it was getting dark, and south of there the signage was a bit dodgy.

We must have gone completely round a roundabout because the next place we stopped at was Newcastle.

We stopped for a feed and I went into a service station to buy a map.

There was an Indian guy behind the counter.

I asked him which way to go to get back to Sydney, but he didn't know.

Fortunately a guy filling up his car did.

So I bought lots of bottles of V Drink and started drinking them.

We got to the middle of Sydney and then got lost, but some taxi drivers who were debating who Israel would next attack, helped us out there.

We came across the same dodgy signage, and nearly got caught out again.

I had to drive very slowly, and we eventually got to Moruya at 5 am,had breakfast at the hotel at 7.30 am,and had to waste Thursday having a sleep.

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.

Yep, that one takes the cake. Deserves its place in board folklore. Never get sick of reading it.

All that was missing was running out of petrol at a crossroads at midnight.........
