Missy and John Butler Trio have both just finished an Australian tour but I'd love to see them both at Bluesfest. JBT is actually still on my bucket list.

Well, it would be John solo as Byron and Grant (Bassist and Drummer) just left the band this week.... wonder how quick he could find some new guys :P

JBT bucket list - hasn’t he been there more than any artist in history?

I say bring back aftroman for 2019. He’s recovered from his episode - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MEXNdJKLF_U

The Blues at Broadbeach lineup is as Bluesfest used to be in the olden days.
For people of my age group.

"An artist never really chooses when and where they will play.It is for promoters to make offers. It comes down as to whether tours are financially viable." Quote John Mayall.

Final announcement made and no surprises. Sorry to those expecting a headliner.

Set times also out so sole focus now on the annual scheduling challenge.

Looking forward as always.

Cat Empires 'Stolen Diamonds' released last month is a fantastic double album screaming to be promoted in a big festival atmosphere.

I'm surprised they aren't playing given their history at Bluesfest.

Great line-up though and the Spotify playlist has been great figuring out who to see.

Yothu Yindi and Archie Roach clash on Sunday is a bit nasty, I would want to see both.

We don't have tickets but if we go we can only afford 1 day and really want to see Meshell Ndegeocello so Sunday is the day.

Shame when that happens. So far, I'm looking good across the 5 days - no real clashes. Woo.

Blew my theory that there would be another major headliner, but hey, I am happy with what I already had prior to this announcement. Might add Miss Velvet & The Blue Wolf to my list of artists to see. 5 days of music and tired feet coming up!! Yay!!

The black man had the blues

But Tchaikovsky had the news...."

i am quite happy with how the lineup has turned out, with an number of my favourites returning or playing for the first time. looking at the schedule briefly i don't have many issues & am happy that i can see the main names on my list with the main 3 being jack white, marcus king & gary clark jr the latter two i will be doing back to back on the sunday. now to spend several weeks thinking over who to miss & who to see which is always good fun.

Last time I saw Missy was when she was a lesbian and played at my good mates wedding.

Shes totally changed now – married to a man and has a kid and my mate’s split from his wife.

It was a great party and one that will be talked about for years.

Missy put on a great show and belted out a few tunes that we weren’t expecting on the day. She reminded me of Irish Mitten back then she’s gone all Delta Goodrem now again.

Either way Missy is great and a real Aussie talent

I'm only a one day ticket Bluesfester and never seem to be there the day JBT is playing.
